.Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Crypto currency, aka cryptocurrency, is not yet very popular, but now more and more technology companies are trying to develop this new type of currency. Like Facebook, which is developing its cryptocurrency. The latest report says, Facebook will launch its digital currency next year. The currency, called GlobalCoin, is expected to be tested later this year. Reporting from BBC News, Wednesday (29/05/2019), the company formed by Mark Zuckerberg will announce complete information about the cryptocurrency this year.
GlobalCoin will be available in 12 countries, allowing users to make cheap and secure payments without the need for a bank account. Even so, this currency will face many technical and regulatory issues before it slides into the market. Reportedly, Facebook has discussed this with stakeholders, including the United States Department of the Treasury (US) and financial firms such as Western Union regarding regulatory and operational issues. Facebook hasn't said anything about this cryptocurrency, but previous reports suggest GlobalCoin is designed as a stabelcoin, meaning that the coin value will be pegged to the US dollar to avoid volatility, as was the case with Bitcoin.
