"Stand up, success awaits."

Saying pertains that, education is the key to success- truly it is. But before you can come up to that success you need to face different hardships, triumphs, and even storms. You need to have a powerful patience to achieve what you aims. You must attain perseverance to be proclaimed as successor. Can you do it all by yourself? Yes? or probably not. It might be a slight chance you can not unless you're really eager too. But mostly, it's lighter if there's at least one person by your side. Giving advises, sharing experiences, helping you walking unto the right path of the journey you're taking. Did you have that one person with you? Yes? You must be lucky. Because there are some who doesn't have anyone along the way yet they survived the struggle. I was once met one. . .

It was a rainy afternoon, the last moment a girl have someone by her side. She never know and wouldn't wished that's the last. She carefully put a blanket on a middle-aged lady that was lying on a bed. The lady look so pale, turns too thin and seems like no strength to stand at all. By looking at the woman, her eyes get teary. She cant take it anymore. Her mother's situation was so pitiful. The later have a disease, cancer on the lungs. Maybe she get it by working so hard just to feed and provide the girl's needs specially her studies. That  same reason the girl can't afford to absorb. So she decided to stop-for now. Her mother is much what she needs than anything else. She's all she have. After all, she can go back to school when her mother gets well.

"I'm sorry Ma but for now I will uphold my promise to you." she said to her mother while looking at her, sleeping.

The next day she wake up early, not to go to school but to prepare on finding a job. She hopes she can get one, thinking about her minor age gives her a headache. Yet she must take risk. She will accept any job she could do. Just to make them survived the daily life.
She left their little home after making her mother something to eat and kiss her forehead to bid goodbye.

She went to the town, turning left to right, looking at each stalls, buildings and even small stores she saw who have a 'hiring' banner on it's doors. One, two,  three, four... four hours have passed she's still jobless. Her, being a minor has given her a hard time. She thinks of another way.. she went back home.

She found her mother still sleeping. Seems like her mother was too tired so she let her sleep a bit more. After putting hers belongings down the table she go outside and knock to their neighbor's doors, one by one. This is the other way she think of. Maybe she can do some laundry or cleaning to bargains with some money. Luckily, there are doors opening for her with sincere smile. She got three laundries just for the day.

The sky's getting gloomy when she finished drying all the clothes. Ha! She's tired but she has no choice but endure. When she's finally done, she got more or less 1,000 pesos. Now, she can buy food and medicine for her mother. She's smiling waking home while holding the things she bought. But the smiles she wears vanished on what she saw the time she step on their little home's floor.

"Oh my god!" She exclaims while looking at her mother's body near to breathless.

"Ma?! No, please! Ma, wake up!" she shouted, tears falling.

Her mother's silent response much frightened her. No matter what she do. Her mother's eyes won't  open. Her body's turning cold. Now, breathless. She cried even more. "Ma.." she utter last, hugging her mother tightly.

That was the most horrible moment happened to the girl. She was broken. Devastated. Feel empty and so hopeless. How can she live a life without her mother? She has nothing left. She must be gone too. But a thought strike her, no! She must go on. Her mother would not be happy if she will give up just like this. So, she stood up and became strong. After her mother's funeral she travel from the province to manila. She will start a new life there. She applied in a fast food chain as a crew and was able to have the Job. She work hard. She saves up enough money to enrolled on a university. She takes a scholarship. She's now a working student. Working at day, studying at night. It was so hard at first yet she manage to do it well. She must be. For her promise to her mother.

Years passed by, she's now stepping on the stage to claim her diploma. All her hard work was paid off. She flashes a genuine smile while holding her diploma and a medal, for being a role-model student.

"Ma, are you watching me now? I did it ma. I survived. I fulfill my promise. I really hope you're here with me. This is for you Mama." she whisper, wishing her mother's soul will hear her.

Indeed life is unpredictable. There are points that life would make you feel weak, empty, miserable, vulnerable, worthless, or even feels lifeless. But you just need to believe in Him, and in yourself. In this world, you're really not alone even if everyone leaves you unprepared. Always look up and have faith that everything will be alright. Just be brave, be strong, take risk, fight, and when you fall, stand up don't ever give up until you reach the top. Now ask yourself, if ever you will be on the girl's shoes, will you survive?

"Congratulations Avery! Your book was sold out again on it's first release!" I snapped out after hearing one of my friend's greetings for me.

I smiled to her and replied, "Thank you Eve."

Where here at a publishing company which I'm working with. What Eve was talking about is the successful launch of my 1st non-fiction book. Actually, I never thought it will hit big time. What I wrote is purely based on my experiences. I thought the readers will find it boring because I know these days people loves to read romance books but maybe I was one of those lucky authors.

"Come on. Let's celebrate!" Now Eve's pulling me. She's really this jolly friend of mine who loves celebration even on a simplest things. Well, maybe today's indeed a worth celebration.

"No need to drag me Eve. Fine, let's go to vikings. My treat." And with that, she rejoice. Poor me. I pity my wallet.

Anyway, before I forgot if ever you'll pass by into a book store and accidentally found a book entitled: "Stand up, success awaits" please try to read it. That's my work. For a spoiler the girl's name there is. . . Avery--a girl that was struggling to live years ago but now, she's a literature enthusiast and a published author.
