The problem of peer violence has been very present lately. Young people very often resort to various types of violence and thus can harm their schoolmates, but also themselves. Education on this topic is very important and should be constantly conducted. In my many years of work at the school, I have noticed that young people prefer to listen to their journalists from us, their teachers, or from some experts we have brought in to talk about this topic. That is why the Peer Team for the Fight against Violence, Abuse and Neglect was established in the school back in 2011. The team was made up of a group of young enthusiasts, and I was their first coordinator. I let them come up with ideas on their own, and only guided them when needed. They came up with wonderful actions, which are still being realized today. One of them is beauty and joy against violence.
The idea of the Team was that the more beauty around us and the more joy we bring to ourselves and others, the less violence there will be. So, now traditionally before every New Year, students decorate the school. The process itself begins with them making decorations themselves, procuring a Christmas tree that has a sod and which, after planting in the school yard, they put up boards on which everyone who wants (and wants a lot of them) writes their New Year's wishes. and teachers ... That wonderful, festive atmosphere really contributes to making us all feel better.
Ever since the founding of the Peer Team, the students have been saying that they are like a family to each other. The first members of the Team are now young people who have graduated from college, most of them have been employed. However, they still see the Peer Team as something of their own and are ready at any moment to help with anything that is needed. Thanks to the Peer Team, they learned a lot of things, so that even after leaving school, they continued to spread joy and engage in various charitable actions.
