You fall. Your teeth are falling out. You overslept an important presentation. We all had those dreams that made us wake up in a panic, only to realize that they were just dreams. But what do they really mean?

Dreams are your subconscious thoughts. They are a continuation of your thoughts throughout the day. While you sleep, the brain creates about five dreams a night (even if you don't remember them). It is a lot of subconscious thoughts that need to be unpacked. And although each dream is unique, they usually follow certain symbolic patterns, writes Harper’s Bazaar. According to world-famous psychiatrists, I found the five most common dreams we all have. What do they mean?

1. You have returned to school or are taking an exam Usually this dream is related to work. School was our first job ever and this dream is common when a work challenge is on the horizon. Whether you are trying to get a new client, a promotion or it is time to evaluate and you have to prove yourself. How did you feel in your sleep? Were you ready? It’s kind of like a mirror.

2. Hang out with a celebrity

There is something about that person you dream of and it may be deep in the history of IMDB or Spotify that is relevant to you at the moment. Ask yourself what has to do with that person.

It could be a movie in which that person is acting, their song, the message will be in the title of that movie or the text of that song. The message could also be related to the personality of that celebrity. If you are friends in a dream, whatever it is in that celebrity that you like, it is about what you like and about yourself. That is something that makes you want to be recognized.

3. Cheating on you partner

If there has been deception in your past, whether in this or a past relationship, it will keep popping up, because it is a stumbling block in yourself. Dreams are not prophecies. If there are no problems with trust, it does not mean that your partner is cheating on you. Instead, another "third wheel" may be to blame. Something is taking up too much of your time and attention.

It could be a job, a hobby, friends, a new baby… which makes you feel cheated in a relationship.

In the end, this dream can be positive, until you wake up angry about your partner for something he did in your subconscious. It lets you know that something needs to be fixed. You and your partner can start night meetings and try to solve everything that bothers you.

4. Be late for something very important

If you work in a time-oriented field, this is pretty self-explanatory. Maybe you want to lose weight or you want to advance in your career by a certain date, he writes

5. Pregnancy

Even if you are not trying to have children, this is a positive dream because it reflects that something is growing and developing in you. It can be anything, from a new idea to working on a promotion, and in fact, many women dream when they are working on a degree or even when they are on the verge of a new relationship.

I always dream something and I like to sleep for a long time! Most often these are people I want to see but it is impossible. Dad, father-in-law, who passed away recently and I miss them a lot! When I wake up I just cry!

Dreams are actually sent to us by our subconscious. Although we may not consciously acknowledge, this is the best way to see what we need and who we are missing.
