The Key That Opens the Door to Success.

There is a story I want to tell you today about a boy who one day was fishing and an old man was fishing near him. This boy was having quite a bit of success fishing, he was pulling fish in and out of the water, but what was remarkable was not how many fish he caught but what he did once he caught them. The boy would take each fish in his hand and measure it. If the fish was longer than his hand he would return the fish to the water, only keeping the small ones. Curiosity at seeing this prompted the old man to ask: "Hey, why are you keeping only the small fish and throwing the big ones back into the water? The boy answered: "Sir, I can't keep the big ones because I have a frying pan that is only 20 centimeters long".

So this story makes me think a little about those expectations that you have of yourself, that do not allow you to see how big you can be, the great things that can come into your life, because I believe that many people have "shrunk" because they limit themselves to that "20 centimeters frying pan". They do not think bigger, they do not see beyond what they only have in front of them, they do not act for more, they do not expect more, they always think: "no, that is not possible, I do not think I will get there, I do not think that opportunity will open up, I do not think that will happen for me", and instead of expanding their expectations, widening and expanding their horizon, increasing those expectations, we only reduce that potential and "shrink" all hope.

Many people fail when they realize that their expectations limit the height of their possibilities, it is impossible to achieve success if we do not expect it, if we do not prepare ourselves to receive it. Why are many people not receiving miracles in their lives? Why? Because it is not for me... because the expectation, the "personal expectrometer" tells me that it is not for me. It expired, because maybe one day you had dreams and now you have doubts.

Maybe the future looked bright and now it looks blurry, the best days to come were clouded by bitter days, days of the past and you are in trouble, of course, if this is what is happening to you I say you have to revitalize your "expectrometer", adopt the principles that God wants for you, for example, your life should be influenced by your expectations not by your experience. Our life should be influenced by our expectations not by the past.

You know something... Moods are deceptive. People sometimes receive good news and feel happy and for a while, they are full of happiness, but suddenly they face a challenge and that's as far as they are happy. One day they are happy and the next day they don't even want to get out of bed. So at times during a state of happiness, there are decisions that are made that are in the best interest of the person but they are emotional. Decisions should be made based on evidence and be reasonable, not during moments where the "emotional tide" is high, so emotionally I'm fine at that moment, that's why you don't have to make decisions in the face of strong emotional moments because you may fail. Expectations should not be based on the emotional, on what I am today, but on what I hope to become someday, that is to say that your expectations cannot be based on what happened in your family, on what happened yesterday, on your past, but on what God is going to do with you. That is where a miracle is going to happen.

Do you know what is the key that opens the door to many miracles?

It is that "expectrometer" inside of you. Revitalizing your expectations should be your next move towards success. Cheer up!

Well written. We should act based on logic and reasoning not just feelings and emotions, though that's easier to say than to do.

You are right, many times we base our decisions on emotions, that's why many times when the emotion passes, the regret of having made that decision arrives. Thank you for your valuable comment. Take care of yourself.

I learnt a lot from this; we shouldn't limit ourselves based on our current situation but always aim higher. The small boy didn't think about the fact that he could have easily improvised by cutting the longer fishes into two hence there would be no need for a bigger pan.

That's right, sometimes we limit ourselves to what we have before our eyes without thinking about the options. We must look for multiple alternatives to keep moving forward. Thank you for commenting. Take care of yourself. Greetings to you.
