A Straightforward Strategy to Get Rid of Self-Doubt and Act on Your Desires
Never let anyone tell you what you can or can't do. Keep your vision unblocked by the constraints of others. If you can get rid of your self-doubt and have faith in yourself, you can do things you never believed were possible.
Self-doubt is something that has an impact on each and every one of us, even those who appear to be supremely confident, at various times and to varying degrees.
Comparing ourselves to others, thinking we lack the resources, intelligence, or other qualities we believe are necessary for success, past experiences, the potential for criticism, and the natural apprehension we experience when trying something new are all factors that lead to self-doubt.
When we have self-doubt, we are allowing fear to take root and prevent us from moving forward and taking a risk. Without realising it, we are feeding our self-doubt, which will probably make it worse the next time we are presented with or given a comparable opportunity.
So how do we overcome self-doubt and ensure that we don't pass on what could be a life-changing chance or journey?
We must start with CLARITY.
First, we must identify the source of this self-doubt.
What is it that makes you feel like you shouldn't try something or that you can't make anything happen? Is it your dread of the unknown, your sense of inadequacy, or another factor you believe is necessary for success? Are you doing this through making comparisons to other people? Or do you believe that if you failed, you couldn't take it?
Second, we must acknowledge the FACTS.
What do you believe to be real? What, for instance, about you can demonstrate that you are capable of attempting or completing this? Have you had any comparable situations that demonstrate your ability to do this?
What are the facts in this if you're comparing yourself to someone else? Are you comparing yourself to someone who has already achieved success? Or are you contrasting yourself with someone who is in a similar situation to you? Nobody moves from point A to point B without practise, failure, and experience. So, try to avoid comparing yourself to others as you might not be aware of all the factors that led to their achievement.
And lastly, JUST DO IT!
The best method to overcome self-doubt is to take risks, act, and observe the results. Failure is a necessary part of success. If it succeeds, you'll be happy you tried it; if it fails, you'll learn from it and go forward.
You won't find out without taking action. You will at least have a far better understanding of yourself and your capacity if you try to push through your doubt.
Don't let others' success or scepticism stop you from pursuing your goals or attempting something novel. Recognize that you have a choice to feel the satisfaction of acting or to let your doubt leave you with regret. Who knows, your deed may possibly encourage others to cast aside their reservations and make the plunge into a life they will adore.
When we continually doubt our ability and strength, we will be stagnant in life until we break free.
