I want you to understand me is a sentence that we should use in our relationships. What we really need is to be understood. There are such moments in our lives that we chase the love of our lives that we look forward to, just like we search for the crystal glass of happiness. However, with time and experience, we realize that our understanding by others is more important than being loved.

Perhaps what we focus the most at first is to focus on "I want you to love me" However, the principle that I want you to understand is the winner in the end. Or at least it's what keeps the balance between.

It is very important for us humans to feel that others understand our feelings and thoughts. If we realize that others don't understand us, we realize that people who say they really love us don't really love us, they love the person they want us to be. Therefore, I want you to understand me is so important that it gives great happiness to the person in the long run.

"Life is the first gift, the second is love, and the third is understanding."

- Marge Piercy

Not feeling that other people know and understand us creates other feelings in us. We feel like we are distant from other people, speaking in another language. We feel lonely, left out, when we see that those who love us don't know us, or at least don't make enough effort to get to know us.

Can a person really feel loved when they feel not understood? This question is asked for all kinds of personal relationships, from family relationships to friendships. Dating relationships are also included in this group.

We all need to be understood before we can be loved

Feeling that others understand what we say, do, and feel is necessary to achieve a sustainable sense of security and well-being at every stage of our lives for a variety of reasons.

When you experience that others do not understand you, the connection between the two people becomes weak. This makes us feel isolated, cut off from the outside world, excluded. Knowing that we are understood by those who love us makes us feel like part of the world. We feel that we are valuable.

Feeling understood improves both personal and social well-being

named research documents how being understood increases well-being both personally and socially. However, many studies have not examined the "sense of understanding" on a neurobiological basis. This study experimentally addressed the understanding of emotion and the lack of understanding while magnetic resonance imaging was performed on participants.

The results show that emotions cause different activation in areas related to appreciation and social connection. Therefore, it has been revealed that the neural responses received after social connection and inability to connect are associated with a feeling of incomprehension.

When the people we love understand us, we somehow get the feeling that this is true love. This identifies us with who we are. Feeling understood makes us feel valuable. Likewise, feeling understood creates a bond between us and those who understand us. Failure to establish this bond makes us lonely and makes us feel detached from those around us. However, we understand ourselves better when we feel that we are being understood by others. Being able to express ourselves correctly is important for others to help us.

Understanding is the principal thing in a relationship. Why I took my time to read this to an end is because, I've been in a relationship where I was misunderstood so many times. It hurts to see a person you are trying to protect turn against you and say hurtful words to you all because of misunderstanding. Try to understand your partner and be clear enough for him/her to understand you. This will pave way for smooth relationship. This also relates to business and other dealings in life. Understanding is key.
