Some pretribbers would argue that Jesus is NOT a wife beater that is why He will rapture first His wife from the earth before He will pour out His wrath during the 7 years tribulation period. They use this argument in order to validate their assumption of a pretrib rapture.
They stressed that if it is a post-tribulation rapture, then that would make Jesus a wife beater because in posttrib view the church will still be present on the earth during the entire seven-year tribulation period. And thus, the Church, the future Bride of the Lord, will be badly beaten during the said tribulation period.
That argument is a total ignorance of what the Bible really says.
Even pretribbers themselves readily admit that there will be Christians during the entire tribulation period. They call those believers as tribulation saints. Now, my friendly challenge to those who hold the pretrib view, please show me a verse in the Bible which depicts the tribulation saints being subjected to God's wrath.
There is absolutely NONE! Those christians will be physically present on the earth while the wrath of God will be poured out but they will not be harmed by it because GOD's WRATH is not geared towards believers but to God's enemies.
Look at what Paul said to the GENTILE CHURCH in Thessalonica:
2 Thessalonians 1:6
Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation TO THEM THAT TROUBLE YOU;
Those who hold the WIFE BEATER argument seems forgetful that we are worshipping a POWERFUL GOD. A God who miraculously protected the Israelites who were physically present in Egypt while He was pouring the plagues to the Egyptians. Is God's hands too short that He cannot do the same to the tribulation Christians?
The abovementioned pretribbers even attempted to use Luke 17 to support their WIFE BEATER argument. They said that Noah was put to safety before God flooded the whole earth. So God will also rapture us from the earth before He will pour out His wrath. What these pretribbers failed to realize is that Noah was NOT taken away from the earth before God initiated the worldwide flood. Noah and family were still physically present on the earth while God's flood judgment is on going. Just like in Egypt, Noah's family were miraculously protected from God's wrath. His family were the ones LEFT of the flood and the rest of the unbelievers were TAKEN- they all died.
You see, God's wrath is selective.
Let us now go back to the scenario during the tribulation period. The following verses prove that tribulation Christians will not be beaten by God because the God that we posttribbers worship is NOT a wife beater.
The wrath of God is NOT for us but for those who worship the Beast.
Revelation 14:9-10
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If ANY MAN WORSHIP the BEAST and HIS IMAGE, and RECEIVE HIS MARK in his forehead, or in his hand,
THE SAME SHALL DRINK of the wine of THE WRATH of GOD, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Revelation 16:1-2
And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the WRATH of GOD upon the earth.
And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men WHICH HAD THE MARK of the BEAST, and upon them which worshipped his image.
God's wrath is geared towards the unbelievers, as mentioned above, and yet there will still be a remnant among them. If they will survive, why can't we?
Zechariah 14:16
And it shall come to pass, that EVERY ONE THAT IS LEFT of ALL THE NATIONS WHICH CAME AGAINST JERUSALEM shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Revelation 11:13
And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the REMNANT were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
God promised a place of refuge for us.
Matthew 24:15-16
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea FLEE INTO THE MOUNTAINS:
Revelation 12:6
And the woman fled into the wilderness, where SHE HATH A PLACE PREPARED of GOD, that THEY SHOULD FEED HER THERE a thousand two hundred and threescore days. A similar scenario in Egypt where the Israelites were in Goshen Egypt and God never failed to take good care of them while He was pouring the plagues to the Egyptians.
Indeed, my God is NOT a wife beater!
