Is it Worth the Risk?

***Draft Written: |01/13/2022 @11:40 AM#165*** ***Lead Image source:*** https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippine_one_thousand-peso_note (edited using Pixlab App) ________________________ As for the Super Typhoon Odette's victims, we all know that right at this moment, we are still struggling. Due to that calamities, our houses has been destroyed, especially our means of living. Our source of income, specifically. Yet, we are Filipinos, we are tough! And as a Filipino, its nature to us to help one another in times of crises like this. As the days gone by, many have shared their wealth through giving relief goods: canned goods, rice, water, and etcetera. Their were also giving off some cash assistance, and roofs, especially to those families that left with no home. But, I was wondering why these so called, ***"Ayuda"*** is just like making us suffer more. Well let me emphasize. Five days ago, some of the Barangay Officials informed each household about this "Ayuda thing". They told us that, the town will be ***giving off Php 1000*** for each of the family members ages 13 years old and above. That was the first information we had received. The next day, while my mama and I were busy peeling off the firewoods, as for our so-called, *"Sugnod or Niraha"*, one of our neighbors said that the ages 13 was changes into 15. I mean, the ones to received that Php 1000 will be the family members ages 15 years old and above. On the other hand, one of the Barangay Health Workers (BHW) came to our house and informed us to prepare three photo copies of our valid IDs because if we don't have it, we cannot claim the cash assistance, and the owner of that ID should be the one to claim it. Not, even the other family members. That's what she told us. She also let us check the spelling of our names in the "pay-roll lists", to see if its correct, because if not, we should get an "*Affidavit*", she said. Well, I know she just following the orders. As for my mama, she got a little angry. She said, ***"Bakit kailangang pahirapan pa yung tao sa pag-claim, kung pwede namang per Barangay nalang yung pagbibjgay. Tas alam naman nilang malayo yung lungsod. Ang mahal pa nang pamasahe. Gagastus ka pa sa pananghalian, kasi sure ako, ang haba-haba nang pila. May iba pa sa'tin, may mga alagang hayop, sino ang magpapakain kung walang maiiwan sa bahay? Hindi ba nila naisip yon?"*** As in, napa-rant bigla si mama. Lol.XD. The other day, some of the neighbors were making a commotion. They were asking why their names are misspelled or they put an additional on it. Like for instance, instead of "Cherry", it became "Cheery Ann". And "Mary Julian" became "Mary-Julian". They add dash sign(-) on it. "Eddie" became "Eddy". Napatanong ako sa sarili, bakit parang sinasadya naman yata na maging misspelled. Not only in our Barangay. As what I heard, the payment for getting an affidavit is Php 30. Another "gastos" again. Ilan na lang kaya ang matitira sa Php 1000? Hehe. ________________________ `Let me thank first this wonderful people on my sponsor's block. Thank you for your sponsorships and for giving support on my works in this virtual community.` ________________________ Two days ago, the scheduled barangays went to town to claim their cash assistance. The weather was good, but later on it rained. My mama said, ***"tingnan mo, pag ganito ang panahon, iinit tas biglang uulan, tas nasa mahabang pila ka. May chance ka pang magkasakit. Alam naman nating may pandemia pa."*** As for me, I logged-in into my facebook to see the situation in town. At talaga namang ang pagkahaba-haba nang pila. I also saw some random posts saying like, ***"1k Ayuda now, ulcer later!"*** Haha. Natawa nalang ako, but I felt them. Hindi naman kasi talaga madali yung sitwasyon. Mabuti sana kung may pa-snack man lang, kaso wala.

As I was saying, there's still a pandemic and why is it they allowed this to happened. I mean, there's nothing wrong but the problem is, what if *"may iba na nasa pila na may lagnat or ubo or sipon?"* I knew they wore their facemasks. But I also knew that some of them were not properly putting their masks on. I really suggested that this one should be done per Barangay, but at the end sinabihan pa ako'ng, *"Yun kasi ang kalakaran nang Government, we should just follow."* (E di OKAY!) ***"Is it Worth the Risk?"*** That's what I've been thinking. And I wondered, bakit 1k lang? hehe. Its not that I am complaining, but, about the things I've mentioned above, the ***"fare"***, ***"food"*** and the ***"patience"*** for waiting in that very long line, ***is it enough?*** ________________________ *"Thank you to my avid readers, likers, subscribers, and upvoters.
