The guilt of being 'unproductive'.
Don't you sometimes feel like not doing anything? I don't know about you but most of the time guilt fills me up. It feels like I'm the most useless one in this world.
I found that saying to myself, "it's okay to take a break, I will catch up later" doesn't always help me. It always pushes me to do more. And I think this is one of the reasons why I feel so stressed. So I took the decision to learn 'How to pause productively'.
'Quality downtime'. I learned this term while trying to find a way out from my guilt. And I believe this understanding is really helpful. There is a difference between taking rest and being lazy. If you are always active, doing great in life; you deserve a day off. So it's okay to be unproductive, at least for a few hours or a day.
But what I found really difficult to take care of is the 'guilty feeling'. You can make you understand but the world will not let you get away with it. So in that case, I personally found that 'time management' really works.
What I do!
I usually make some time to take rest, to not do anything and relax for a while. I watch the news, talk with others, give time to my family. It works as a good quality time.
I prioritize 'what matters most'. And it's giving me a courage to move away my guilts.
I always say to myself, I'm doing my best and I really try to act on this.
I wouldn't say, I never feel the shame being unproductive but I'm getting away with it. Because I believe, it's time for me to focus on life than just on work!
You can give me more suggestions and share your thoughts with me. I would really love to know more...
We always need to balance our life, with doing our things,to relax and have time for our family. As human being there is always a tendency that we became tired and it will makes us unproductive. So,it really works to take a pause some time.
