My Favorite favorite foods as a child.
Childhood food means the aroma of mom's cooking to me. I can remember, how we used to wake up in the very morning with the fragrance of winter cake. Sometimes in the evening, while doing homework, we can guess what my mom was cooking by the smell. Those are such precious memories.
I was not fond of sweet food but when she used to make this semolina cake, I wont to grab some. They were nothing fancy, only take a few ingredients but they have such a comfortable home taste. Now I also prepare this at home, for my son.
As I was always fond of spicy food so my favorite spicy food list is long. Like the egg with rice flour crape. My two other siblings didn't like this that much. So my mom used to prepare this, especially for me.
You see, how life goes in a circle. Now I prepare all my childhood favorite food at home, for my family, especially for my son to give him a taste of what I used to like. He doesn't like all of them but that's okay.
While writing this, I was thinking about what else I can remember. So many memories came to my mind, some also fade away because they took me a while to recall.
Another food I can remember is what we call 'chatpati', it's a mixture of chickpea, meat, potato, and different spices. It was something like festive food or vocational food to us. Because my mom used to be a working woman so she didn't get much time to prepare this time-consuming food but on holidays. Maybe that's another reason to feel this food is something special.
I was always a street food lover. So except for my mom's cooking, there is some street food like pickles, puffed rice mixture, etc.
Now, things became different, life became distant. Not every food serves the same way it used to be. Also, some home food became annulled by all the modern snack options. But one thing didn't change. And maybe that is my taste buds. I guess my childhood taste buds are still the same because I crave the same food till now.
May taste buds didn't change also and I'm glad because with that ] can still enjoy those foods in my childhood which made me happy and embraced life more.
