People say, "How could I live without this or that?"
You can. We can live basic, we can leave so many things we always think we couldn't live without them.
Need example?
Didn't you lose someone close? Didn't you leave something that you loved once?
It's because we can. You may say that it creates a deep hole in our hearts, makes us feel empty inside. Yes, they can. But it's also true that many times we learn to live by ourselves.
Being raised up in a sports lover family, when I stopped watching any game on TV or online, everyone was surprised. They were shocked, they said, I will miss out on life. I totally understand their feeling. But the truth is I'm not missing out.
It's because I have withdrawn my emotional attachment from it.
It's been almost four years now, I don't watch any sports on TV/mobile, anywhere. There were reasons. I was compromising with caring for my son and giving more priority to those meaningless games. Yes, I can now say it loudly that I come to a point to make them seem meaningless to me.
I'm not saying, you also have to do that. But giving my example so you can relate.
And not just that. I don't drink soda, eat ice cream anymore. I don't usually watch TV but only Netflix sometimes, I stop communicating with toxic (negative/who don't add any value rather only judge my life) people (this one was the hardest because many of them are relatives and friends). And the list goes on...
So, am I missing out?
Absolutely not.
It's okay if you also have to take the decision to hold yourself back from something. Maybe it's for your own good or maybe for the circumstances. I have seen people feel so much guilty thinking they are missing a big part of their life.
Nope, you are not. Make yourself comfortable with the new situation. Life is like a flow. You can't hold everything every time. Let go of something and grab something new. You will not miss out.
There's nothing wrong about holding back. In fac,t I salute you because of that braveness. Especislly cutting negative and toxic people from our lives.
