I have learned Mindfulness in the hardest way. I was not the same, I had no connection with my inner self. Moreover, I always tried to escape facing my inner self. It was not like I made a big mistake or something but there was fear. Fear of knowing the unknown.
If you have a chaotic mind then you will understand better what I'm saying.
I never considered being mindful, I didn't know how much it could help. I started to lose interest, I became so forgetful. I was never like that before. But not considering mindfulness make me come to a point where I started to lose myself. It was like I was shredded in parts. I was doing what I was supposed to but my mind was never there. I started to lose my connection with life.
This may sound normal to many. Because I have seen so many people living with this condition. One reason is they don't realize it's not normal, they think depression is a normal thing to have. Another reason is, not knowing what can help them.
But this is not normal, not knowing our inner self, not having a connection with life is not normal.
Losing ourselves is the worse experience anyone could have.
But I found mindfulness. It took me a long while to find this path, understand this and adopt this. But once I do my life changed. I wouldn't claim my chaotic mind is gone, I have been successful in building my happiness. I'm still not there but I'm walking on the right track, that's what I feel now.
Mindfulness is a way of befriending ourselves and experiencing.
This one thing makes everything meaningful. Your past that you may not want to recall will also seem meaningful, necessary and, valuable. That's the power of mindfulness.
You will feel comfortable with your inner self. You don't have to live with duality. You can befriend yourself. That's the best thing you can gift yourself.
Also, I found that it helped me to become less forgetful and more conscious about my surroundings which helps to make better decisions too.
If you ever felt something like what I felt, no connection with the inner self, losing yourself. I would highly suggest you practice mindfulness. There are so many materials online and offline. I believe you will not feel any difficulty incorporating it into your daily life. Moreover, it's nothing difficult to start.
So be mindful before it's too late.

Loving ourselves is the best thing to do before we will love others. How can we show our love to them if you can't define it by yourself.
