Did you know that there are simple home items that can help you lose your extra pounds?
In this blog, I will tell you about these little things that made a huge impact on my health and body.
But wait!

Easy-To-Find Things
1. One-liter water tumbler
Price: Php 0
We heard this several times already: drink 8 to 10 glasses of water to maintain a healthy body. But some of us fail to complete this simple task.
That's why owning a one-liter water tumbler will help you to stay fit. It will force you to drink what's inside the tumbler, bottoms up!
Staying hydrated boosts the metabolism that helps us to feel full easily. Another benefit, you'll have few glasses to wash in the sink!
As an active individual, I personally drink 6 liters of water every day using this old milk bottle.
2. Puzzle mat/yoga mat
Price: Php 350
Store: Shopee
If you want to get fit, you will need to have your own space for workouts.
Having a yoga mat or, in my case, an 8-piece puzzle mat will help you to own an area at your home where you can do home exercises.
Seeing my puzzle mat also forces and reminds me to workout at least three times a day.
But even without a mat, you can still do exercises straight on the floor. No excuses!
Not-so-common Things
3. Food weighing scale
Price: Php 250
Store: Shopee
You don't usually see this in Filipino households. But if you or your mom or sister is into baking, this is definitely can be found in your kitchen.
Since I am in a calorie deficit, this item helped me to track my food intake every day. Before cooking and digging in, I measure my food first to prevent excessive eating.
Some examples of the food I measure are slices of wheat bread, peanut butter, oats, powdered milk, and chicken breast. After measuring, I write down their calorie equivalent and subtract to my daily calorie requirement.
4. Egg boiler
Price: Php 150-250
Store: Shopee
Yup, this one exists!
Part of my diet is eating two eggs every day. The simplest and most nutritious way to cook it is through boiling.
But Liquified Petroleum Gas or LPG, which is common in Filipino households, is getting expensive by the day!
So I found a way to cook it without using the stove. This egg boiler can cook up to 5 eggs in 25 minutes.
Expensive Things
5. Human weighing scale
Price: 1,300
Store: Xiaomi
This is a smart weighing scale. It comes with an app where I can track my progress.
Aside from measuring my body weight, it can also give me other data such as my Body Mass Index or BMI, fat rate, protein intake, visceral fat, and many more.
This smart weighing scale is expensive but I got this as a gift for my birthday. If you don't want to spend over a thousand pesos for this one, you have alternatives such as analog or digital weighing scales that you can easily find on e-commerce platforms.
6. Air fryer
Price: 2,895
Store: Xiaomi
Cooking is made easy with this device. I, for one, am not a natural-born chef so I don't know how to prepare my own food.
But with an air fryer, I can just brush the pan with some cooking oil and toss my raw chicken breast seasoned with salt and pepper. Just a few minutes later, I can dig in to my high-protein meal.
In my next fitness blog, I will tell you about all the nutritious meals that I cook in my air fryer.
Hmm, I want to buy that egg boiler, my family loves to eat boiled eggs in the morning.
Whenever I did my workout at home, I just used those junk cartoons in performing those push-ups and planking.π I don't have extra money to buy those rubber mats today. π
