As I'm sitting in my computer, I'm roaming around the feed trying to think what to write or just looking for something that catches my eye. My brain is drained and I don't feel much like writing but I found an article by @bmjc98 and I thought, "This looks fun", so I clicked the link to look at the questions available and picked five. Here there are:
1.- What's one of the most fun childhood memories you have?
My brother Gonzo (that's his nickname) and I are very close and fond of each other, but as adults, when we were little not so much. We fought a lot mostly because he's a prankster and I was shy and a little withdrawn, but that didn't stoped us from being together at school or at the orchestra if our parents said so, for example, coming home from school.
One day, we had to wait for our mom to pick us up from school but it was pouring rain that day, and knowing we didn't had a car or money for a taxi, we could easily be stuck in that school for who knows how long. So, as soon the rain slowed down, we started walking home, like many times before, but the rain started again and instead of looking for shelter, we kept walking and had the most fun in our lifes. We stepped in every puddle we found, big or small, it didn't matter, forgetting that we had our backpacks with all our notebooks, school books, etc. As we approached home, our mom was already at the door and when she saw us you could see that she didn't knew what to do, as she was battling between laugh and anger. Of course, we got scolded, but what a fun day that was!
2.- What's the best advice you've ever received?
In 1999, I was part of the National Chindrens Orchestra of Venezuela, and that meant that often I would have to be away in gatherings to prepare tours and presentations here and abroad. One of those times, we were gathered in an University up in a town called San Antonio de los Altos, very beautiful and very cold also. It was april and at that time coincided with the Holy Week, and Master Abreu, being very religious, had a Holy Mass celebrated for all of us. I already have had my first communion but since I didn't confess before the gathering, when that time came in the mass to take the communion, I didn't. He saw me sitting quietly and approached and asked me why I didn't take the communion and I of course answered, so he told me to found him after the mass, and I did. He took me to speak with the priest who gave the Holy Mass, and he asked me the same question which I answered like before, to which he replied this:
"You know that God is omnipotent and omnipresent, right? If you know what that means you know that he knows and sees everything all the time. We all are sinners and imperfect creatures, but, if you know in your heart that you have sinned, and truly repent and ask forgiveness to God, he will know it, and he will forgive you even if you don't go to church and confess to a man no better than yourself"
After that, he gave me the communion, a hug, and send me to rejoin my mates. Since then, I haven't confessed in a church and to this day, it is one of the most powerful advice I have received.
3.-What's your dream job?
Almost anything related with food and travel.
I'm a huge fan of Anthony Bourdain (I cried when he died) and I just love the way that he always compelled you to know the story behind every food he ate. Not only the beautiful restaurants, and the beautiful cities, he went below the surface finding the people and the dishes that made the world go round, and often he preferred the little stands and locals that the Michelin Stars Restaurants; he was just awesome and I've always wanted to do something like that.
4.- If you could be a part of a family on any TV show, which family would you choose?
This one is very easy to answer: FRIENDS. My favorite Tv show ever!
Yes, the only ones related by blood where Ross and Monica, but to me, family is not always about blood, is about commitment, loyalty, true love and friendship. In their journey, they had many opportunities to gave up on each other but didn't, and even though some time I hate some of them (Rachel mostly) I have always loved the the fact that they stuck with each other no matter what, the good, the bad and the ugly. That's beautiful!
Fun Fact: I learned English watching Friends!
5.- What's your favorite season of the year?
Winter Wonderland!
Over here we don't have winter winter, and I've never seen snow in my life. But, winter means Christmas, and Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It's a time to sing, it's a time to share, it's a time to look past anger and resentment, to be close to each other and enjoy the simple things in fife.
It is also time for Gaita, a music genre here in Venezuela distinctive of the season, and the first time you hear anywhere a Gaita playing you just know, Christmas is coming. I'd love to spend at least one Christmas enjoying both Gaita and a beautiful winter with sparkling snow, a cup of Hot Cocoa and Pan de Jamon.
That's it! Those are all my questions for today.
Thank's to @bmjc98 for sharing hers and for providing the page from which I picked mine, and I also leave the link for you to pick yours ---> Here it is
Lol sorry! If it's any consolation, I also craved for a piece 😋
