My boyfriend's nephew who is in kindergarten was tasked to make a video about COVID-19 Prevention Awareness Campaign.

From a vantage point, you will see how simple are the steps in preventing yourself from acquiring the virus. It is actually true, the very simple ways, when done properly can really make a difference.

Just recently, the Philippines marked its 1 Million COVID-19 cases. We are in community quarantines for over a year now. We actually have many types of community quarantine such as Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), General Community Quarantine (GCQ), Modified General Quarantine (MGCQ). All of these types of quarantine that I am not sure what the differences are anymore. If you want to know more about the difference, you can visit this website - https://www.rappler.com/newsbreak/iq/explainer-movement-areas-under-community-quarantine-coronavirus

One year in a pandemic has truly changed our way of living. I am working from home, needing a good and fast reliable internet connection. I can only go outside for necessary travel, which means in buying groceries, food, medicine in designated supermarkets and stores.

Delivery service is a booming business. Ordering online becomes a necessity more than a convenience. Having your food safely delivered at your doorstep is a new norm that I was already taking before, which becomes too normal now.

Our medical health workers are the very ones that need rest. Those who are working in a government hospital (if not all), are not given the salary and allowances tantamount to the work and risk that they take to be able to care for the sick. I really do hope that the government would be truly serving the people, not serving only their own interests.

Anyway, this should have been a sharing of preventive measures in contacting COVID-19, so, here it goes:

  1. Wash your hands with soap and water regularly.

  2. Cover your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing.

  3. Eat healthy food like fruits and vegetables, especially those that are rich in vitamin C.

  4. Wear the right face mask and face shield properly.

  5. Do not go to crowded places. Maintain physical distancing.

  6. If you can, get vaccinated.

These are simple tips but when done properly by everyone, then, we will be able to bounce back and start anew.

To the one reading this, I hope you and your family's safe and sound. Peace!
