The species (Bothrops bilineatus) commonly called tendril cuaima, Oköi-rora (Pemón ethnic group) or emerald mapanare, belongs to the Viperidae family and a poisonous species that has strictly arboreal habits.

Accidents with this species are very few but extremely important because it is an animal that lives among branches, vines or shrub areas. Its poison has not been studied in Venezuela, but records in Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador establish that its toxin is not as potent.

The ecology of this species has been little studied due to the few records; Every encounter is used to the maximum to understand how these incredible organisms in nature live.
