According to the definition provided by the New Webster Dictionary, religion is a whole system of belief, worship and expression of man's acceptance of the Creator God. There are many religions in the world, different ways of worshiping according to the teachings and principles. For those who are "touched by the Lord", they accept the way of religion or faith toward the attainment of salvation that for many makes their life meaning. According to Saint Augustine, there are three questions about life, each related to faith. First, what can I find out? Second, what should I do. Third, what can I expect? Do you know enough about God to be your savior? What have you done to enrich your faith? How important is it in daily life? Acquiring knowledge of other religions can help us better understand the meaning of life. The following are just a few of the religions and philosophies underlying the recognition of values ​​and morals:


1.Hinduism It is considered the oldest religion in India established by the Indo-Asians. Hindus have three Gods: Brahma or Creator or One Spirit. Visnu, the caretaker. And Siva, the destroyer. Beliefs: a. Life is only temporary. b. Believes in reincarnation, transmigration and karma. c. Salvation is achieved through prayer, study and good communication. 2. Buddhism Founded by Siddhara Gautama in India. The son of a monk, married and had a family of about thirty. Gautama sought answers to human misery, pain and suffering. Left the luxurious life in the palace and for seven years remained in the forest. Despite enduring suffering, happiness and peace have not been felt. After staying under a tree, there was an understanding of the meaning of life and death. According to him, salvation is attained by man through the understanding and belief of the four great truths; a. Life is full of poverty and sacrifice. b Poverty is a result of his selfish desires. c. Poverty will end if self-control is suppressed. d. Nirvana is reached through the "Eightfold Path" - proper belief, gesture, speech, emotion, meditation, way of life and effort. 3. Confucianism Confucius, China's greatest philosopher for 2,000 years, established his teachings as the law of the nation and worshiped him as God. His teachings should be models of traditional family values ​​that he believes should be models of proper relationships.


Some of its characteristics and teachings are:

a. To be happy, to adhere to the Golden Rule - Don't do it to both of you what you don't want to do either. b. To attain wisdom, goodness, unity - man must be investigated. c. It teaches that not only personal well-being will be developed, but that of his neighbor as well.
4. Taoism The philosophy preached by Lao Tze of China. Taoism or Daoism - a Chinese word from man or Dao that means The Way or the Way. If in confucianism, life must have certain principles to be followed, in Taoism it is emphasized as living simplicity.

5. Islam Established by Mohammad in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. They call the one and only God Allah. According to Mohammad, he was assigned to deliver the teachings to the Pagans. The Holy Quran, which contains Islamic beliefs as revealed by Allah to Mohammad. The Qur'an still contains the five main duties of every Muslim and the principles that should guide their moral and social life. The mosque every Friday afternoon is a day of worship led by the Imam. In the fivefold prayer, the Muslim faces the city of Mecca which is considered a holy city. They do not worship things or images of animals or people.



6. Christianity
The founder is Christ in Israel. The teachings are contained in the Ten Commandments of God first revealed to Moses.
There are two commandments: Divine Love and Charity.

Christians believe in:
a. Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ the holy incarnate Son, and the Holy Spirit.
b. There are two main ways to live your life: First, corporal act of mercy, and spiritual (act of mercy) Second, moral etiquette; it contains four basic virtues (cardinal virtues) such as gentleness, justice, fortitude and temperance. It includes three theological virtues such as faith, love and hope.


Finding answers and solutions to life's problems is not by changing religion, it is better to know, understand and apply it.
