Our Mask
What we think of ourselves is completely different from what other people think of us. Because whoever we meet in life, whether it's family, relatives, friends, or even strangers, they have different versions of 'us'. It depends on our attitude or their prejudice toward us. Even we are the strangers we happen to have in mind. We don't know him. He is just a construct that we make of 'ourselves'. Or victims of constructs that we perceive as 'ourselves'. Because we rarely choose that construct, most of us just become victims of it.
Therefore, when we make a relationship with anyone, in any form, the more we know deeply, the more easily we are disappointed in him. Other people like or love or even hate us, as our version of us. Once we play our version of ourselves, other people can be disappointed, if we fail to play the version of ourselves they want or what they have in mind. Disappointment comes from here, there is no distance between our fantasies about someone and reality.
Then to cover it, we try to be like what most people want or like. We also wear masks, once one mask is removed, another will remain. No human is true without a mask. So why do we know that we are wearing masks, that we are different from every other person's story? So that we can know how to deal with it. It's not easy to be disappointed when for example we find the other side of the people in our lives, it turns out that it doesn't match what we want, doesn't match what we think about them.
Especially the dark things, as well as ourselves. As my Master said, as long as we want to change for the better, our future will remain pure. We can also be more accepting. Accept that other people are not our property, and vice versa, we are not machines of other people's desires, even though they are very close to us. If we accept each other, mutually willingly like this, the relationship will be less conflicted from within. However, if we are not aware of our masks, we are not aware that we are living in our minds, we will demand each other, dominate each other, complain a lot, manage a lot, and the like from other people. Our minds become crowded with prejudices, which ironically often miss the point of what is real.
