Technology integrations and social media developments are the medium for efficient communications , reliable source of information and entertainments nowadays. People are constantly adapting the new kind of society, well in fact, even adults of late 60's can make use of gadgets and its applications. Who among us not are familiar with Tiktok? How about Facebook or emails? I think only few. However, The advancement and changes on technology becomes the panel source of plagiarism and most people are not aware of this.

Some social media sites can be use to plagiarism act ( without knowing) by someone who post or copy particular content just to get viewers, followers, attentions, subscribers or fame. For example: Sharing a quotes as their own, creating similar video clips, uploading images from the website not stating a credit to someone else and those are just few paradigm but sad to say there are enormous meaning to explain Plagiarism. This is very important for us to have deeper understanding on plagiarism to avoid problem in the future generation . Let us support campaign against stealing of intellect.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia " Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own". To explain it further; taking ideas owned by another person without attribution purposely to obtain self credits.

Another definition from Oxford Students " Plagiarism is presenting someone else's work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement."

Both definition was written with the same meaning pertaining to plagiarized authorship. It can be consider as defrauding. Its an act of dishonesty and lying to one's self, not just that, you are making your readers and audience believe to your foolishness .It violates the right of ownership. How to minimize Plagiarism?

• Acknowledgment of Ownership of your resource item ( if any) .

• Find your own style of writing and created materials.

• Remember 3R's ------> Research, Read, and Write.

• Never Paraphrase the original context and written source which would make similar to your article.

• Dont copy ,paste and post text from browser -- > I observe most netizen doing this on facebook and twitter.

• Refrain from using google translator to translate foreign articles to native language for you to publish and own it as yours.

Dont rely on any website posts, and stop degrading yourself. You can do better than what other's can do. You dont need to steal resources , or be a thief of intellectual property for your own interest. There are benefits you can have when making items originally . It will improve your critical thinking and boost your confident on creating more useful materials.
