The internet of things

Technology is rapidly advancing like never before. It is difficult to function in society today without an internet connection or a smartphone.

I don't know about you but I had just about got to grips with 4g and then comes along 5g which is up to 100 times faster.

The internet of things is all about, so we are led to believe making our lives easier because of more automation. All the gadgets and appliances in our homes will have a sensor imbedded within them that will allow them to connect to the internet and interact with other devices.

One such scenario is your home heating. Your smartphone will be able to determine your location if you are not at home and turn it off and also back on again shortly before you arrive home.

Today there are more than 25 billion smart home devices connected to the internet and this number is rising rapidly.

Smart meters are also being fitted in many homes, again along with the promise of more accurate bills and no need for estimated bills to be sent out any more.

There are more than 25 billion smart home devices connected to the internet

The internet of things plans to go much further and will be able to analyse huge amounts of data very quickly.

Smart cities will be a big thing in the near future, trials are already underway in New York, Singapore, Barcelona and Stockholm. These smart cities will be able to automate things like waste management, traffic flow and monitor citizens via sensors imbedded into the urban infastructure.

Self driving cars that are wirelessly connected to the smart grid are planned to help people get around the city avoiding congestion automatically.

There are plans to use automated systems for air traffic control, healthcare and crime prevention, for example in Singapore they are already issuing fines for people smoking in prohibited areas via facial recognition.

No need for an officer to issue a fine, you will get a notification to pay sent straight to your phone.

At the same time as all this advancement and intrusion into peoples lives there is also a plan to issue everyone on the planet with a digital ID.

The non governmental group called ID2020 met at a summit back in 2016, which took place at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York.

They discussed how to implement a digital ID to the whole world, including the estimated 1.5 billion people in the world without any recognised identification documents.

Technical experts in 'blockchain technology' also joined the representatives from ID2020 to discuss what technologies could be used to implement this.

A digital ID for everyone also happens to be one of the 'sustainable development' goals outlined in the Agenda 21 document which was published back in 1992.

So all this interconnection of people with smart devices and a worldwide digital ID is taking place as we move away from from fossil fuels and oil, towards an all electric, 'apparently' green future economy.

Everything seems to be working in tandem to put in place all the foundations to keep track of our every move and even what we do while in our homes. How do we know if our smart tv's or google home devices are listening to our conversations or not?

How do we know that any of the stored data is secure, or vunerable to hackers or bad actors on the inside.

Will our data be vunerable to hackers and bad actors

Do we just accept all of this on the basis of trust?

Do you trust big tech, governments and private companies to always do things in your interest, or seek to gain more power and accumulate more wealth by oppressing the masses, keeping them in order and compliant.

Does the Internet of things, Agenda 21 and ID2020 serve our best interests or the interests of the elite?

I believe we should look after our planet though I wonder if the means of trying to do so will be effective.

As the population of the world continues to grow there will be more and more pressure on resources.

What other means do the elite have in their toolkits to reduce the pressure on the planets resources.

To be under constant monitoring and having things automated for us may be okay if we trust the people operating this technology.

History however has shown that this world can change fast and governments can turn against the very people they are supposed to protect.

Let us be vigilant!

These technologies may gave us convenience, but at the same time, we were bound to face a lot of problems, including these things you have stated above.

Its really important to think twice or thrice or much better, a lot of times before acting or before you decide.

Freedom is precious, as what you said..

I totally agree with you, my friend. They say they want to make our life easier and improve the world. So, what is the main thing they want to take from us? They don't say that. I think people's freedom is at stake. There is great danger. I try to draw attention to similar things in my articles. People should be aware.
