Fitness: 14th November 2022 + A Did You Know Fitness Question

Good Morning

One thing I've noticed with exercises is that long-term sustenance depends on one of the following three things:

1.        Exceptional motivation

2.        Partners or Exercising Groups or

3.        Reinventing the Exercising Regime

Now, the first point is something I have reasons to believe I have. This alone is the reason I continue with my fitness regime. But in the absence of point 1, fitness is still sustainable if you have friends or acquaintances with the same goals as you. You can be sure that they will cheer for you and never let you slump. This worked for me during my college days, but today, everyone has a different schedule and is very busy. But that's still not a problem if you can reinvent your fitness regime. And that's what I am going to talk about here.

For those that find keeping up with your fitness regime, I suggest to keep reinventing the regime. A change in the way you do the exercise, when you do the exercise or where you do the exercise matters. The excitement of the unknown keeps you on it.

Let's see my regime.

My mornings always start with a run, which was no different today. I did my usual four kilometers, albeit a little faster. I completed the run in twenty minutes, translating to twelve kilometers/hour. Decent speed. But the reinventing part of my regime was at home.

Now, I had been struggling to get going with my weights. I had to squeeze it in every time, which was not fun. However, then I got a brainwave. Since I work from home anyway, why not do the dumbbells between work? I mean, that's like a dual benefit. So, as I completed tasks on the laptop, I would stop and get my dumbbell regime on. Each would last about two to three minutes, and then I would get back to work. That was super cool. I am happy with this new overlapping regime, and I can do it as often as I want. Can you imagine that? Even if I work for ten hours, I can do a minimum of ten times if I plan to hit the dumbbells every hour.

Did You Know?

Okay, this is one of the unexpected records but interesting nonetheless. The fun part is not many of you would know about it. Did you know there is a record for going up a flight of stairs with a person on your head? Yeah, there is.

Giang Quoc Nghiep and Giang Quoc Co, both brothers, hold the record. The brother went up 100 stairs while balancing the other on his head. The record was created on 23rd December 2021. The Vietnam nationals went up 100 stairs in just 53.6 seconds.
