With the Global Situation around Covid-19, working from home is becoming the new normal. Given the situation, the number of users utilizing audio/video conferencing tools has greatly increased.

There are many hackers could possible interfere with this application like what happen on famous video conferencing app like Zoom. They disrupting the video conference by posting some malicious video or photos on the middle of video conference or they called it Zoom Bombing.

Here are the tips to follow in using Video Conferencing.

  1. Never click on any video conference link which you do not expect.

  2. Verify with host through a different channel ex. phone call, SMS if they sent a video conference link.

  3. Link must conform to the video conference platform format. Samples for the common video conference links are listed below:

    *Zoom: https://xxxxx.zoom.us

    *Webex: https://webex.com

    *GotoMeeting: https://gotomeeting.com

    *EventOn: https://event.on24.com

    *BrightTalk: https:// brighttalk.com/xxxxx

  4. Follow the safety guidelines on video conferencing provided with your IT.

  5. Don't use video by default. Turn on video only when needed.

  6. Do use the latest version of the web conferencing software or latest browser version if joining via browser.

  7. Don't record meetings unless you need to.

  8. Turn off annotation features of web conference.

  9. Enable "Encryption" if available.
