If this pandemic continues to occur...

Can you still imagine or remember the way we used to live? No threats, no social distancing, no face masks/face shields, enjoying gatherings, comfortable learning methods, etc.? Until now, I'm still dreaming of a brighter future - having the peace and orderliness of this society.

Can this pandemic can still be stopped? If not now, then when? Nakakalungkot lang isipin na we didn't expect this to happen, but I know God has reasons for this. Hindi man natin alam but we should trust Him in this.

I feel like our life now is a zigzag puzzle. We are being reprimanded, we are being concluded and dictated of what we should do. Even the vaccine now are still not trustworthy even though many frontliners have gotten their vaccines. Because the fact that we don't trust the government anymore makes us more distant on their actions and governance.

If this pandemic continues to occur, the life we used to live will not be the same anymore. We will be filled with fear, stress, stigma, minimizing social networks, etc. Population will eventually decrease as the death rate increases every day though biomedical frontliners has made an enormous effort. It is not just the health that will be affected, but also the education of the students. There are disruptions of schools, universities, and other vocational education segments where they have to seek certain optional strategies to cover up their educational goals. Especially, they may face some irreversible gaps in their education. But for now, as we can see, Elementary and Secondary Education are having modular classes while College Education has online class. This is not healthy anymore! Another thing is that, there is no guarantee that the students can learn while they are in home. Honestly, sometimes, we just do and submit our outputs for the sake of completion.

This pandemic has brought lots of positive and negative effects in our daily life basis. We cannot avoid the fact that this pandemic has changed everything. From wearing masks, social distancing, and proper sanitation, we are now being controlled and monitored. There are people losing their jobs and incomes will suffer more. The developing and poor countries may get more loans and grants for their economy to survive. However, if we compared this pandemic to several historical experiences in managing pandemic situations, this pandemic can be used as a development to enjoy much higher take-off with a new set of attitudes in the process of development.

Let's just hope for the best. I have been so used to the normal that I now find it uncomfortable to not wear a mask outdoor. I can't go outside without bringing alcohol. I think I will find it hard to adjust once the real normal comes back again. But I will welcome it fully, if it would mean that the pandemic is finally over.
