Both dogs originated from Germany many years ago...the Rottweiler was used for working and guarding both live stock and property whiles the German sherperd was used to mainly herd livestock ...
In comparing shedding of hair the rottie although has a short coat sheds alot but the German sherperd sheds even more because of its long coat
The Rottweiler is a great guard dog and has a natural protection instinct but can be trained to be a loving family dog ...
The rottie is much more in physique aas compared to the German sherperd...because of its shiny black coat and block head ....also the muscular structure
The Rottweiler has a minimum underlying health disorders than the German sherperd...the German sherperd is prone to a lot of health disorders than the Rottweiler is ..
Though both dogs need to be trained to be loving and caring the Rottweiler has a natural instincts to impress its owner where as the gsd is more of an independent dog breed
The gsd is a noisemaker..it makes noise at the sight of anything perceived as dangerous..whiles the Rottweiler is more of an intimidating breed which attacks straight ahead...since the gsd is a noise maker it will be inconvenient to have it if you live with an elderly person ..
Lastly the Rottweiler although a medium to large size dog is able to adapt more to apart living than the gsd dog ....
