Single on valentines?

Being single is not bad rather take that as an opportunity to improve yourself. Being single shows that you can do everything just by yourself, it teaches you on how to become independent. Yes, "no one is an island" as the saying goes but you don't always need anyone to survive this life that is given to you.

Not all who's in a relationship are happy and being single doesn't always mean sad.

I am single, yes, and being single is not a big deal for me.

Being single has its advantages:
1. You can go wherever you want without asking someone for approval.

2. You can do whatever you want to do.

3. You learn to become independent. You will experience more personal growth. Those who are in a relationship tends to be more co-dependent with each other but not all.

3. You can have more time to develop strong friendships. Your life will not only revolve on one person, as majority of couples do. They treat their partner as their world, and when they break-up, it is difficult for them to recover.

4. You will be more self-determined, you can focus more on yourself.

5.  You will develop more as an individual.

6  You learn more about yourself.

*These items listed above were my realizations on my journey being single. (Let's have some flashback about me: I had a boyfriend before for 5years and 8months but we broke-up and I've been single for 10 months from that time and for now, I am happy with my life for being single.)

Yes, I know that being single has disadvantages but why not take this opportunity to love yourself? Loving yourself is the first step you can you for you to be able to love others. You can not love others if you can't even love yourself.

But how do singles celebrate valentines?

1. They can celebrate with their parents/family - it's the kind of love that is eternal.

2. They can celebrate with their friends - friendship is one example of love.

Occassions like Father's Day and Mother's Day without them to celebrate with, hurts more than being single on valentines, always remember that. 💯
