What if we are the aliens?

Humanity throughout history has been obsessed with conquering. From the days of our stone age ancestors upto today, we have been conquering lands without mercy. Leaving a trial of destruction wherever we go. It is as if this ambition is hard wired in our DNA. Even as I am writing now, invasion is unfolding in Ukraine being orchestrated by Russia.

We appear to have all the characteristics that are common with all invasive species of life. Common characteristics of IAS( Invasive Alien Species) include rapid reproduction and growth, high dispersal ability, phenotypic plasticity (ability to adapt physiologically to new conditions), and ability to survive on various food types and in a wide range of environmental conditions.

For a species to become invasive, it must successfully out-compete native organisms, spread through its new environment, increase in population density and harm ecosystems in its introduced range. For an alien species to become invasive, it must arrive, survive and thrive.

To put simply all IASs are aggressive, invasive and dominating. In the case of humans, we like to use our intelligence to establish dominion over other living things. In addition we use our intelligence purely to serve our interests without regard for other life on the planet.
