GIVE AND TAKE
So many scenarios where we can apply the "give and take" system. You give something and you receive in return. Some might say it is fair and square but is it really fair?
People nowadays especially those with power usually uses this as a bait or a tool to fool or use other people. They give something valuable or needs of a person in order to gain something from them. May it be trust or ownership, etc. And people who badly need the thing offered to him not knowing the consequences on accepting it.
As I have read in some books it always says that "those who have power uses the weak and their weakness in order to be more powerful." Give in for politicians as examples. We no some politicians do the give and take as always. They give bribes to people in order for them to be voted or elected. Some may take the most advance methods. Collecting some important data on most influential people and use them to threat them and be their allies. Some would go over to your house and offer nonsense promises and give consumable things that you can't decline accepting. They give in return for your vote. It is what they called in political as "vote-buying".
I once assigned to interview ordinary people and ask them this question:
"If you want to give something, are you expecting something in return?"
I got bunch of different answers, mostly they say that yes they seem to expect something in return if they are giving something. There are also some answering that why would I give if I can't have something to received. There are also pure answers like if I give and I would expect something I would rather not give at all for me not to expect. As they quote "When you have given nothing, ask for nothing."There are also people especially the believer of faith they say, If you give something wholeheartedly you shouldn't expect something in return, instead be happy that you are able to give to people something that they needed without worrying something that they might have to give in return. A simple smile and saying thank you is enough.
Some non profit organizations always organize feedings, blood donations, medical check-ups for free. They are the so-called modern heroes. Treating people and giving them the necessities they need without asking something in return.
In the field of studying we can also apply these methods. For research you give some hints and you get some ideas from others also. Thesis are very hard for graduating students and brainstorming is one of it. So in a group you can give the thoughts and ideas you come up with and in return you also get to learn something that can support your theories to make your thesis a success, and of course with great heard work.
In the Spiritual way of life, give an take takes less effort for those believers. As mention earlier, giving without asking in return is a natural way for them. Giving will always be a happiness for them because they are glad to help those in need in every way they can. May it be finances, food, accommodations or even a silent prayer for a family member whom is sick. Prayer will always be their powerful armor in every situations.
Pope John Paul II once sad that "If He asks much of you, it is because He knows you can give much." but the people in the church are willing to give. In the Bible we always read"ask and you shall receive"...so might as well ask, and if you receive it is up to you if you want to share some of the blessings you received. Sharing is caring as they say.
So what are you?
Are you a giver? Receiver?
Do you also expect something in return if you give something?
Do you give it wholeheartedly or not?
This is related with charity. When you see a poor man on the street and he asks you for one point of money of monetary system of that country, big number of people will said I don't have, even there is a little change in pocket. Another group who want charity is people who doing some job for change or small amount of money, and they are a little bit respected and take more compassion from wealth people in comparing with their social status.
