Our Elyu experience 🌊 part 1
One of the things I’ve always grateful for is the gift of friendship. Around billions of people in the world, it is rarely you meet certain people who will touch your lives and eventually make your existence more meaningful. Aside from family, your friends are the people who we can consider as next family that brings huge significance in our lives. Luckily, I am one of those billion people whom consisting of solid friendship and deep love within chosen by hearts. I would like to share our one-of-a-kind experience in this article.
Before I begin, let us have a brief identity to my loving high school dabarkads. Kate, a medtech graduate and she is heaven as good in cooking. I should say, she is the chef of the family. Liza, a civil engineer who works in Meralco and she is the “lagging alanganin” due to her schedule and workloads. The big boy beside is Md, the bunso but the most mature in the family. He is a cardio nurse in St. Lukes, Quezon City and the sweet and tender loving friend of mine. The another one is Patrick; he is a seafarer and planning to go up again this January. He is the most obedient one when it comes on “sundo” at “hatid” aimlessly. Lastly, the cute-sized friend of mine is Dan, he is also a civil engineer in a certain company in Pampanga. He is actually my classmate for first year high school with the same section as we go up to fourth year. Besides, his mother is my co-teacher in school. These are my crazy yet fun-filled buddies in crime!
Few months ago, we had our first hang out in Batang 90s, a small resto bar here in our hometown. As we jam in the rock music with cold-headed beer, we planned a beach trip unexpectedly. The conversation went like this:
“Tara sa Elyu (La Union)”
“G, kelan? Tagal na nga nating walang bonding sa ganon.”, “oo nga, nakakamiss nga”, “Go lang, para maalis naman ang stress”, everyone said and agreed to the plan.
So, we planned our elyu trip last December 18-19. It was good enough because the Christmas break was started last December 16 so I was glad that time because there were no work after all. Md suggested that we should go in early morning of 18 to avoid heavy traffic and other circumstances. December 17, we were at Md’s hub for an overnight and directly for Elyu’s trip. To make our trip more sophisticated, Kate suggested that wearing white in the beach makes the soul relief and relaxed. Likewise, we agreed to wear white or neutrals so we can have a color theme. We start our trip at almost 3 in the morning and the trip was so good because of chill song and no traffic at all. As the song mesmerized us, we arrived at the first border before entering Elyu. We entered because there has no policemen nor interception on the way. Until, we finally arrived at the registration area. It was 6:30 am, Md and Dan went to the registration area to register us. We felt worried because it took them almost 30 minutes before going back to the car. As we saw Md’s face, it seemed mad. He said, the man who was in the registration area is looking for S-pass or QR Code before entering La Union. We did not have any of those so we went on a certain place to think of the plan. Before the day we left, one of Md’s friends said that vaccination card is the only passage they need so we brought our v-cards. However, we did not expect that in registration area, they need those following requirements. We do not have enough time to get a QR code because we can only get that through a link and two days before the release. Md contacted his friend and it took us almost 5-hour of waiting. Dan started suggesting some places to go but everyone was not responding because all of us wanted in La Union. Waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting… We took some photos to ease our anxious thoughts.
Md drives away to entertain the time and find a place to eat. We saw a Chowking franchise so we decided to have our lunch in that place. As we eat our lunch, we noticed the smile on Md’s face because finally, his friend responded to his messages. After we made so much ways, we finally entered in Elyuuuuuuu. We were truly happy because we thought we can't make it to happen.
It was Saturday, December 17, 2 in the afternoon, we touched San Juan Beach, La Union. We took some photos and play with the small waves of the ocean. Some of our pics:
(We actually have lots of pics, I only choose these three to share with u this hehe)
Then, we rest for awhile and took a snap because we were preparing ourselves for a night life in Elyu. Kate, Liza, and I walked through out the beach and we arrived in Kabsat, La Union. While waiting the boys, we had cocktails and sweet mango juice. Afterwards, Patrick and Dan arrived and joined us in viewing the sun to set.
Later on, Md is finally arrived after a couple of sleep hours because he is the driver. As far as I remember, it was quarter to 6 in the evening when we start to eat. Of course, drinking beverages is inevitable haha. The girls had two flavored San Mig each and for the boys is two stallion each. We had meaningful conversations, deep talks, laughter and bonding we always wanted to have.
After in Kabsat, we on our way to home. We continue drinking because Md is brokenhearted. That is our goal, the night is for Md because we noticed that he’s been emotional stressed and drained. As the alcohol tolerance keeps us high, Md started to open-up. After teasing each other, we went to our aim. Md started talking and everyone lend ears to listen. All of us were listening to him and we can’t stop our tears when Md is started crying. Just like the usual ways to comfort a friend, we did our part as his truest friend of all time.
To my understanding, it was 3 am when we finished the night’s bond and sleep for tomorrow’s agenda.
2nd day is on the making 🤣🤣
