“ Stereotypes in Sub-Continent”

Stereotype is a myth that does not have a firm basis or any  common belief that is famous in a society but logically they have no explanation .All the things that are renowned in society but knowledge and education does not accept well generally falls in the parameters of stereotype .One of the most common stereotype that  is famous in sub-continent is “not doing your own work by your own hands” .People generally believe that by doing their own physical work i.e polishing shoes,washing car,keeping the house clean will mitigate their self-respect and ultimately they will have to suffer in front of society.They fear that if someone saw them doing household chores,then that very person will consider them inferior.Such stereotypes become more and more common due to lack of knowledge and guidance about society.

A famous man said:

“See through the stereotypes that were made due to lack of information.”

Another famous stereotype is having a narrow point of view about others.Today people are living a life where they are not ready to help others.They think that by serving others i.e giving another person a glass of water will lower their self-respect.People are living a life where another person is not even ready to give path or provide an easy way to other person while driving a car.Every one tries to occupy maximum space of the road although road is property of government.They think that they are having a great respect by narrowing the path for other drivers.However,they are actually pushing themselves towards animalism.The actual difference between animals and humans is that they don’t think of others,instead they can’t think of others.They are not made for this compassionate brooding.Humans are made to ponder over their activities.They can think over their actions but still humans are busy in manipulating,slandering,narrowing the lives of others and much more.A person is not even ready to think that “man!my actions will hurt somebody or I can be a source of discomfort for someone else”.Having a sense of compassion and pondering is what makes a person able to be called as Human.But here humans are busy in thinking that “why I am giving the other driver enough road to takeover me,why I am thinking of others I have to live my own life.”

It is rightly said that:

“Be kind,for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle.”

One of the top reasons behind motorway incident on Lahore motorway was that no one was ready to think of that very woman who was helpless.Every one was busy minding his own business.By sitting with a local bus driver you will realize that how much narrow point of view people have about others if you are sophisticated.Today we block the path of others on road because of satisfying our own marital requisites.We are not ready to brood over such sense-less attitude.We do funeral customs,processions,political campaigns by blocking the road.By disturbing the lives of thousands of other people we perform the funeral duites of a dead one.These all activties can be performed in some open area where daily life does not get disturbed but we are not humans we are selfish animals who just want to pave the way of one’s self not others.

Nelson Mandela said:

“We slaughter one another in our words and attitudes.We slaughter one another in stereotypes mistrust that linger  in our head and the words of hate we spew from our lips.”

Every one thinks that he is like the hero of every movie he watch.There is a certain thing that happens after watching a movie.You consider yourself on hero’s role and try to face the problems of your life.e.g: after watching the famous movie “Lucy” one thinks that he can also unleash the full power of brain.But the point here is that other people have also watch the same movie.They also consider themselves the other lucy.They also consider themselves the other superman,iron man and  much more.You are not the only one.You just need to come out of your brain and think of others.

When a begger comes near our car,we objurgate him/her by keeping an ideology that this is only mafia.They are quite well .They don’t  deserve to beg.We castigate them but we are not ready to give them a small penny.Our intentional aim  must be  help them not checking them or taking them in the custody.We rebuke them but don’t think of ourselves on their place.

Scamming people is becoming more and more common but no one thinks that what will happen if someone does the same scam with me.And when the same thing happens with that very person then he/she cries then he begs in front of God that “why such thing happen to me!”.People cry in front of God but people don’t think that what actually they are doing with other people in the society.By destroying the lives of other one can only attain only temporal success but afterwards the consquences will be more dangerous.The problem is that people don’t think of their future.That is one of the weakness of Humans that they don’t think intellectually for the future.

It is rightly said that:

“ We all use stereotypes all the time without knowing it.We have met the enemy of equality and the enemy is us.”

The question arises that how do these stereotypes arises in a society.Stereo-types arises due to cultural problems.Some countries also spread cultrual stereo-tyes in society in order to devastate a nation.The stereo-types that are the most common in the region of sub-continent are mostly those which were opted by seeing the life style of colonial-organizations in 18th-19th centuary.The brutality of british colonialism made people to think like that .What better can be expected from a nation that his lived a complete centuary in the slavery of a nation and now they are living at their own life standards.It is obvious that such baseless stigmas will arise in a society.They spread such stereo-types that having all the life facilities on the verge of servants is the prime luxury of life.They spread it and then in their own society such stereo-types don’t even exist.

In the region of sub-continent people hate to do the work of labour because of their self-respect and ego.People dislike to sit on a shop or guarding a shop.But there are bunch of people who do the same work in countries like England,Malaysia,USA.There they don’t think of losing their self-respect because everyone there is doing these chores.Someone is a pizza boy,newspaper distributor,selling canides by going home to home of people.But in sub-continent people don’t do such chores.This is the stereotype of sub-continent and it requisites a great attention in order to be vanquished from society.

Humans are avaracious and rapacious.They only think of their own alimentation.But one should keep it in mind that if one achieves success or wealth by greed and grasping the livelihood of others one cannot relish the success eternally.One will have air conditioned rooms and environment but will not bear it because of health.One will have cars but would not be ready to drive it because of low strength.One will have medals but will not be ready to show them if one achieves success by negative means.People do corruptions and think they are becoming rich in easier way.But this ease comes out when a person faces such problems that don’t have any cure.Such problems mostly occur to those who do bad with others.And then crying in front of God,does not make any sense.There are thousands of examples of such people in our society that have all the luxuries in life but they cannot enjoy them,they cannot relish the true fruit of their success because that success is based on corruption and negative activities.

“Conquer your bad habits,otherwise your bad habits will conquer you.”

A stereotype that is quite famous to everyone is punishing someone because of sin of father or predecessors.This type of thought mainly occurs because of low education.What more baseless fact can happen in this world that you punish a son because his father committed a crime or sin.In order to get revenge people murder each other.This is still happening in contrast to our development in scietific world.We made our way to solar-system but still can’t change our thinking.

Breaking the law will make you cool is another baseless thing that happens in the culture of sub-continent.Just think what is the problem in following the rules.People fight with traffic police on the basis of their status.People threaten the  police on the base of power and opulence.Controlling the law is the work of government not civilian.This fact needs to be inculcated in the minds of young nation.But still here people try to control law and boast in front of others that “look! What great status I have that I can control the law “.Totally illogical and un-educated .Us as human beings ,there is a dire need to eradicate such low-standard thoughts.
