We’ve all seen firefighters at times, at least in passing. However, few of us know what jobs they do and what vehicles and devices they use to do the job successfully. Well, let's take a look.

The purpose of these vehicles is to enable the fire brigade to perform their work tasks as well as possible and to enable them to arrive at the place of intervention in the shortest possible time. According to standardization, fire trucks are populated by types, and technical conditions and characteristics are prescribed for each one. This division is indicative, since devices and equipment that another type of vehicle has are often added to a certain type of vehicle, or they want to use two different extinguishing agents with one vehicle.

All wagons are red with blue rotating lights, and sirens of varying tone and intensity.

Fire and rescue vehicles include:

1.Command vehicle

2.Naval vehicle

3.Combined vehicle

4.Tank truck

5.Technical vehicle

6.Automechanical ladders

7.Hydraulic articulated platform

8..Dust extinguishing vehicles Vehicle - mobile storage

9.Forest fire truck

10Fire ship

11.Helicopters

12.Firefighting aircraft- Canaders

Command vehicle

The command vehicle is a smaller off-road vehicle that serves to guide other vehicles when going to the place of intervention in a group. The crew of the command vehicle consists of the driver, the unit commander, the electrician on duty and the radio operator. The vehicle is equipped with a communication device, basic personal and collective protective equipment, basic technical tools and devices for extinguishing initial fires.

Naval vehicle

The naval vehicle has the task of transporting the crew of the fire department (9 members) and the planned equipment and devices to the place of intervention. Fire and foam fire extinguisher by construction and equipment belongs to the group of naval vehicles and is intended for rapid interventions, extinguishing fires of solid flammable substances (class "A" fires), fires of highly flammable liquids (class "B" fires) and gases (fires class "C"). The vehicle has a centrifugal pump with a capacity of 8/8, and if necessary, it can, and if necessary, carry a portable fire pump in the vehicle or on a trailer. The vehicle can have a built-in water tank with a volume of 800 to 1600 liters.

Fire trucks marked VF (water-foam) are most often used in firefighting units as naval vehicles. The vehicle cabin can accommodate a crew of three to five members, and depending on the load capacity of the chassis, as well as the power of the vehicle's propulsion engine, they have water tanks from 2500 to 7000 liters, extract tank from 250 to 1000 liters and centrifugal pumps 16/06. 8 to 40/8. All types of these have built-in suction mixers of water and extract, winches for quick intervention, storage for the corresponding equipment and water or foam throwers with a capacity of 1200-1600 l / min. Class A, B, C fires can be effectively extinguished with this vehicle.

Combined vehicle

The combined vehicle with the VPF mark is intended for extinguishing fires of class A, B, C, D and E, and water, air foam or powder are used as extinguishing agents. The characteristic of these vehicles is that they can work in parallel with water and foam. If working with two push water, one can extinguish with water and the other with foam. This mode of operation is possible because the created mixture of water and extract is not returned to the suction part of the pump, but to the appropriate discharge pipelines.

Tank truck

The tank truck are intended primarily for the delivery of a larger amount of water for the needs of fire trucks that participate in extinguishing fires. These vehicles can extinguish Class A fires themselves, and if foam is provided, in buckets or barrels, they can also extinguish Class B and C fires because the fire installation has a built-in foam dosing mixer and a connection for pulling foam outside the vehicle. Depending on the load capacity of the chassis as well as the power of the propulsion engine, the tank trucks have a water tank with a volume of 7000-10000 liters of water and a water or foam launcher with a capacity of 1600 l / min at a pressure of 8 bar.
