The oldest house in Aveyron in France, built in the 13th century. The houses were then built with a smaller ground floor because they were taxed per square meter of the ground floor, so people built it to pay less tax.

The houses are recognizable, because each floor was bigger than the previous one.

It is very interesting that people built houses like this because of taxes.

Very interesting construction, taxes were paid on the ground floor and that is why each floor is getting bigger.

I did not know that houses like this exist in France. I know that houses of the same type still exist today in Macedonia and Serbia.

There are houses like this in Macedonia as well, but all the houses are empty, all the people have moved to big cities for a better tomorrow,

This old building is very durable and beautiful. I don't think our buildings will last 700 years

They used to be better quality houses than now, my grandparents still have an old house 150 years ago, it flies cold in you and the winter is warm :)

Yes, you are right. These houses now as they make, there is no chance to last like this for 8 centuries.

I have a feeling, when I look at the picture, that the house will collapse at any moment

This kind of construction is unlikely to fail. See how old the 8th century house is.
