No one will have an ideal future. But everyone can become better than they are now. This does not mean that he is not good at the moment, but that he can always get at least a little better. The secret of success is in small changes. Those who would like to change significantly overnight are doomed to failure. The daily desire to be a little better in the various roles we find ourselves in, brings significant progress over time. Thus our present Self cares for or, more precisely, cultivates and nurtures our future Self. This refers not only to rejecting what the person thinks is not good for them, but also to developing what will be good and useful for the person. Bad habits are best supplanted by good habits.
Many people think that they have to be dissatisfied with themselves in order to progress - that dissatisfaction motivates them to move in a positive direction. The trap of this belief is that even when they achieve their goals, they must be dissatisfied again, in order to continue to "move". They can be successful, but at the cost of being dissatisfied all their lives.
Self-acceptance and self-satisfaction do not exclude the desire for development and advancement. Satisfied people also have goals that they strive for, and when they achieve them, they become even more satisfied. In order to be better, we should not compare and compete with others, but evaluate ourselves through how much better we are today than yesterday. A good man is not one who is good to others, but one who is good to himself and to others. And to be good to oneself means not to harm and to be good to one's future Self.
