Every countries of the wolrd has it's their own interesting culture. These Philippines folk dance signifies a reflection who they are and what they are. America, Japan and Chinese has their own culture in dancing. Well Philippines will no left behind of course we have what we called a variety of Folk Dances.
Maglalatik
Is a dance about the battle of Christians and Moros where they will receive a price of coconut or latik during the Spanish colonization. Their dance is divided into four parts which is only men will perform, they are wearing blue pants for Christians and red pants for Moros.
Tinikling
This is inspired by an awesome bird called tikling. This steps is like hard but its not. This is using two bamboos which the dancers will jump over it moving with poise and grace. This dance is from Leyte, this is their special dance.
Itik-itik
This an Philippine fold dance which have an interesting origin. In such stories, they say a Filipino maide was asked to perform a native dance in one special occasion. She started it using a hand like a local species of duck or itik. The people was amazed that's how the dance came.
Sublian
Sublian came originally from the word subsub, this means to fall with the head this also reflected in some dance steps. This steps is feebly and tortuously. This dance is came from the root of Batangas where originally played as a ritual dance and was evolved as religious tradition that perform during fiestas in Batangas.
Binasuan
This is the native dance of Pangasinan, which is literally means dancing with a glass. This steps are include by glasses filled with rice and they need to balance it in their hands and in their head. It is usually performed in weeding ceremonies.
These Philippine folk dance are ethnic in nature and origin. There are several folk dances that are influenced by the Western countries when we are colonized by them. This folk dance wether ethnic or origin. This is still that we have doing and what we like. We are proud on having like this folk dances until now.
