Home nursing is a commitment to take care for a sick member of the family focusing on the needs and general health of the sick person. Getting aick is part of life.   2. SUNNY DISPOSITION - a good home nurse must know how to encourage the patient in a joyful manner for a speedy recovery.

  3. FLEXIBLE - hey good home nurse must learn how to adjust to the needs of the patient, finding ways and means to attend to them.

  4. OBSERVANT - hey good home nurse must be conscious of vital signs pertaining to the patient's condition. He or she must learn to keep a record of the medications, food intake and other important matters pertaining to the patient's condition.

Duties and responsibilities of a home nurse

The primary concern of a home nurse is to ensure a speedy recovery and safety of the patient. In order to do so, he or she must learn by heart the following duties and responsibilities.

  • Make the room of the patient in a way that it will facilitate quick recovery ;

  • Give medications on time and keep medicines properly;

  • Record patients vital signs, medications, food intake and others;

  • Update the doctor about the patient's condition;

  • Must observe personal hygiene to prevent infecting the patient;

  • Provide comfort to the patient;

  • Double check the medications being given to patients.
