The Internet is an illustrative factor in modern education. Education has become more vulnerable and widespread than ever before because of the Internet. From using digital books to getting a degree online, more classroom purposes and student experiences are driving into cyberspace — involving, unfortunately, bullying.

Despite all the good that the Internet has made to students, parents, and teachers alike, some people use it with violent intent. And just as bullying has occurred since the beginning of time, virtual bullying has occurred since the beginning of the Internet.

Bullying—including cyberbullying—causes crucial emotional and psychological anxiety. Just like any other victim of bullying, cyberbullied kids experience tension, fear, sadness, and low self-esteem. They also may experience physical indications and struggle academically. But targets of cyberbullying also suffer some unique consequences and adverse feelings.

How Your Child Might Feel If Cyberbullied

Your child may feel a span of emotions if they are the victim of a cyberbully. If you notice a difference in your child's mood, don't think twice to reach out to their healthcare provider for experiment and support. These are some terms to describe the feelings and sensitivities that cyberbullied teens and tweens may encounter.

Overwhelmed

Being targeted by cyberbullies is breaking especially if a lot of kids are contributing to the bullying. It can feel at moments like the entire world feels what it is going on. Sometimes the tension of dealing with cyberbullying can provoke kids to feel like the situation is more than they can deal with.

Powerless

Victims of cyberbullying always find it tough to feel safe. They feel defenseless and powerless.

Generally, this is because bullying can seize their home through a computer or cell phone at any period of the day. They no longer have a place where they can evade. To a victim, it feels like bullying is around.

Additionally, because the bullies can remain unidentified, this can escalate emotions of fear. Kids who are targeted have no idea who is committing the pain—although some cyberbullies want people they know.

Humiliated

Because cyberbullying enters cyberspace, online bullying feels continuous. Kids know that once something is out there, it will always be out there. They feel endangered.

When cyberbullying occurs, the terrible posts, messages, or texts can be shared with numbers of people. The vertical volume of people that know about the bullying can bring to severe feelings of embarrassment.

Worthless

Cyberbullying always attacks victims where they are most weak. Targets of bullying may feel serious dismay with who they are. As a result, targets of cyberbullying frequently begin to doubt their worth and importance. They may respond to these emotions by hurting themselves in some way.

For example, if a girl is called fat, she may begin a blow diet with the belief that if she varies how she looks then the bullying will stop. Other times victims will try to alter something about their appearance or behavior to prevent additional cyberbullying.

Physically Sick

When kids are cyberbullied, they always experience headaches, stomachaches, or other physical illnesses. The stress of bullying also can result in stress-related situations like stomach ulcers and skin conditions.

Moreover, kids who are cyberbullied may encounter a change in eating habits like skipping meals or binge eating. And their sleep patterns may be affected. They may endure from insomnia, sleep more than usual, or suffer nightmares.

Depressed

Victims of cyberbullying frequently succumb to anxiety, depression, and other stress-related situations. This occurs especially because cyberbullying erodes their self-confidence and self-esteem. Besides, the more stress of coping with cyberbullying regularly erodes their feelings of satisfaction and fulfillment.
