Rags to riches refers to any situation in which a person rises from poverty to wealth, from poor to rich and in some cases from absolute obscurity to heights of fame, fortune and celebrity and sometimes it happened instantly but others happened because of hardwork.

Actually I read many stories before about some entrepreneurs and celebrities that came from rags to riches. From their humble beginnings until they reached the peak of their careers and become successful. Some of them considered as a billionaire man.

One of them are the founder of starbucks, Ralph Lauren, Jessica Parker and Celine Dion who came from a poor family. While Ed Sheeran and Halle Berry slept rough, but look at them now they are some of the world's richest. From a poor to millionaire and billionaire. And that was happened because of their hardworks and determinations.

Howard Schultz- the Starbucks CEO

Who didnt know starbucks? Ofcourse all of us are familiar and always see and hear that. Who can forget the delicious coffee with a very good price....hehe. You can find starbucks everywhere. But did you know that the founder of starbucks came from rag to riches? Mr. Howard Schultz came from a poor family. He are the son of a truck driver. But despite of that he was athletically talented and got a football scholarship to the University of Northern Michigan. He finished his study with a degree in communications. After he finished his study he worked in a printing company named Xerox. And his life start to change because of a small coffee shop called starbucks.

My mother started crying. She said, 'A coffee company? Are you crazy? Who's going to buy coffee? "But I just felt I had to follow my dreams," Schultz to told the Mirror, one of his interview.

Mr.Howard Schultz is a coffee lover, after leaving Xerox he become the company's chief executive in 1987, And from his help starbucks grew from a small coffee company to a well known one and having 16,000 outlets worldwide. Last June 2018 he stepped down as executive chairman and as board member of starbucks. His title is chairman emeritus and his current net worth is US$4.8billion.

I will share you a story about a kid that came from rag to riches. Lets call him Carlo but not his real name.

Carlo story how to achieve his dreams

Carlo is a kid that came from a poor family. He is the eldest in the four siblings. His father died because of sickness. His mother is the one who provide them and take care of them. At the young age, Carlo knows how poor their life is. Because he is the eldest he learn to do some household chores to help her mother. He is the one who taking care of his younger sister and brother when his mother is not around.

His mother work is to buy some vegetables and sell to their neighbor. She is going to their house who wants to buy some vegetables. But despite of his mother hardworks the earnings is not enough for their daily needs. Whenever he sees his mother so tired he feels sorry for her. So he decided to help her to sell some vegetables. In the morning Carlo and his mother are selling vegetables while in the afternoon Carlo selling cooked vegetables and his best seller is the "ginataang langka".He is walking around to every houses to sell food while bringing the casserole. He is not shy to do that eventhough some kids are laughing at him.

Years and years pass by, it is the same routine of Carlo everyday until he graduated in High School. When he turn in college being poor didnt stop him to continue his study. He applied to a well known foodchain as a service crew to support his studies. He is working at daytime and go to school at night. Everything was not easy to Carlo but he didnt stop. All he want is to finish his study to help his mother and his siblings.

After two years of taking up in college atlast he graduated. Because he is smart and hardworking he got a job in SM. I dont know if he is a supervisor now but all I know is,he is in the office with a higher position. He is wearing a suit and he is very handsome now unlike before. Pogi na, yummy pa....HAHAHA Yes I know because I can see him sometimes. And I am very proud of him to what he achieved in his life. Yes I witness that all because he is my neighbor. Maybe Im a year or 2 older than him. And I am happy for him. I consider him as one of a successful person that came from rag to riches. He is not rich like a millionaire but he is miles away from their way of living before.

Realizations

We shared some stories about rag to riches to motivate others. Whatever hard the life it is for sure there will be a success. Just do a hardwork and have a positive outlook in life. Maybe some of us cant do what Carlo's went through hardships in life, but he worked hard to achieve his dreams. And I really admire him for what he did. A poor kid before who are selling foods and vegetables are now working in the office of a well known company.

Mr Howard Schultz and Carlo are one of the rags to riches who did their hardwork and determination to achieve their dreams and to become successful.
