Are you a beginner who just started with splinterlands? Wondering what summoner to buy? This post will focus on one summoner that you should be looking to buy.

In a previous post, I talked about a tip that new players to splinterlands tend to overlook, levelling up summoners. Levelling up summoners allows you to play higher level monster cards which can be the difference between winning and losing a battle.

The summoner that I didn't focus on in the post mentioned above, which I want to cover in this post, is Kretch Tallevor.

Card Detail

Kretch Tallevor is an Epic rarity summoner card from the Dragon Splinter. It currently costs $0.9 - $0.95 for a single card. Why would I recommend a summoner card that has no summoner abilities?

Max Summoner Levels for Bronze League

In the Bronze league, the max level for Epic Summoners is level 2. When we look at Kretch's stats, we see at level 2 that Kretch can play level 3 Rare rarity monster cards, which can be very useful.

So, you may be wondering, how does this help new players? Certain Rare rarity monsters increase in their health and damage when going from level 2 to level 3. These additional stats increase in the Bronze league can be automatic battle winners. (Also, why players with Legendary Yodin Zaku are automatic winners because of those stats buffs in the lower leagues).

Let's look at some Reward edition cards that get a buff in stats from level 2 to 3. These cards would all be playable with Kretch at level 2 in the Bronze league, which may give you an edge.

  • Fineas Rage: +1 melee damage

  • Naga Fire Wizard: +1 health

  • Beetle Queen: +1 magic damage

  • Battle Orca: +1 melee damage

  • Captain's Ghost: +1 health

  • Naga Windmaster: +1 range damage

  • Pirate Archer: +1 health

  • Centauri Mage: +1 magic damage

  • Javelin Thrower: +1 health

  • Mushroom Seer: +1 health

  • Silvershield Sheriff: gains Piercing ability

  • Temple Priest: gains Dispel ability

  • Crystal Werewolf: +1 health

  • Silvershield Assassin: +1 melee damage

  • Grim Reaper: +1 range damage

  • Dark Ferryman: +1 range damage

  • Octopider: gains Demoralize ability

  • Skeletal Warrior: +1 health

  • Gloridax Solder: +1 melee damage

  • Hobgoblin: +1 melee damage

  • Furious Chicken: +1 melee damage

  • Prismatic Energy: +1 health

Recap

While Kretch may not appeal to other summoners with valuable abilities, it offers the added advantage for new players to play higher level cards in the Bronze league, which is quite a list of cards, as you have seen above, help you win those daily quests.
