The Alphabet of Love ( Final )

What is love?

How would you define this surreal and abstract concept?

The definition of it will be subjective the more people you ask. People will factor in their own experiences, their emotions and their feelings into the meaning of love. The textbook meaning of the word love may play along the line of “ a strong feeling of attraction, affection” but for me, it is more than that, so much more than that.And to somehow describe my own rendition of love I used every letter on the English alphabet and came up with words I can associate with the concept of love to try and paint a picture of what I refer to as love. In this attempt I have already written three parts of this, you can find the previous articles on the links provided here :

This is the final part of my definition of love. So let us not prolong the agony anymore and get right to the next letter on my list:

Trust

Originally, I intend the letter ‘T’ to be Time but I promised my friend @Ellehcim to use another term since she already associated “Time” to her definition which I totally agree, a hundred percent. So I chose trust as the next viable choice. It’s also obvious why this is included in my definition. Love without trust is nothing at all. Trust is a crucial part of this connection. That just makes sense, how can you offer your all to someone you do not trust?

Trust also is a delicate and fragile component of love. As they say, once trust has been broken, it will never be the same.

Unity

Love can influence people to unite together. Although love is different for every person it is so great that each of them could be related and could be connected under the same great love. Just look at marriage, two individuals intertwined in unison and they come out as one and the same person. That’s the power of love, sharing everything until you become a sole entity. I am not saying that one party should lose its characteristics and individuality, but I am saying that all of them, all parts, all traits of them make up a single entity as a couple.

Victory

Love wins! It truly this. When true love is fulfilled, there is a sense of reality, a sense of winning and a sense of victory. The realization of that becomes even sweeter the more they struggled along the way. As they say, against all odds, you and I against the world.

Warm

People often described love as that warm fuzzy feeling. And I totally agree with them. When you hug someone you love, you will feel the warmth, that warmth that could thaw a freezing heart. When you see a person you love suffers or in pain, your chest tightens and you’ll feel the heat climb up to your head.

You may think it’s funny and ridiculous but I think the compliment “You’re so hot” is derived from expressing love. To whom do you say that phrase? Don’t you say that to someone you find attractive? I am thinking that one day, someone saw the person they love and they felt that strong feeling, that warm sensation in their chest and they went “You are so hot” describing the way their body reacted to seeing that person. I don’t know about you but I think that it is totally possible.

X

X in math is always missing, For years we are put through a lot in finding x. But in the end, what is X? In love X can be anything that makes it work, that makes it fantastic, that makes it amazing and that makes it magical that cannot be expressed in a language that us humans can understand.

You can look around and see couples everywhere that in one look or in a deeper observation that you could deem incompatible but their connection is real. What is it that melds their relationship in tact? That is the X-factor. So I guess, the next time you have been asked the question : “Why do you love me?” a safe answer is : “because you and me = X”. I may not make sense now but if ever you fall in love you will find that something you cannot pin point that makes your love for that person irresistible. If you know what that is, pray do tell.

Yearn

The dictionary defines yearn as “to feel a strong desire or wish for something or to do something”, it also defined it as “to long persistently, wistfully or sadly”. When you are in love with somebody you are missing them as soon as you part ways. Alright, that may be a little bit cheesy but it’s quite true actually. Sure enough, time apart is also a necessary part of love but missing your other half is inevitable and it is acceptable. When you can’t see the person you love, you yearn for their touch, their warmth and their love.

Zealous

Of course, if you love somebody you wish nothing for them but success in any way possible. And for that, you show a strong sense of support, you will give everything you’ve got to show them that you are just two steps behind cheering them on and supporting them, whatever it takes.

Conclusion

Truly, love is a many splendored things, it took me 26 words to even remotely describe it. It took me 4 articles to convey the message of what I think love is and what comprises true love. Even that was not enough to fully paint the picture I have in mind. It shows that love is subjective and no matter how hard I try, it cannot be fully expressed in mere words, thankfully, actions speak louder than words and a single gesture can speak a thousand words. So if you think you are in love with someone, telling them is not enough, you have got to show them that love using every fiber in your body.
