To see or not to see The Batman? Here's the dilemma (no spoilers)
This is the topic of the moment in the Internet world, as we all know The Batman has only been in theaters for a few days, and there is already talk that in its first weekend it has been able to collect the sum of 100 million dollars, in addition, a sequel has already been confirmed as well as a series for the HBO platform in streaming of the character The Penguin (played by Colin Farrell).
For my part I went to see it the day before making this publication for all of you, I enjoyed it as it has to be on the big screen, which makes it undoubtedly a great experience.
Now I will offer you my point of view about this movie, so let's get started.
The Plot
Already serving two years in his job as night watchman and fighter for justice, Batman is in an emotional and existential crisis that leads him to have to look for his answer while he must attend a case of greater resonance among society when the mayor of the city is murdered when disputing his re-election by a mysterious man who breaks into the bosom of his home. All this will lead him to have to investigate among several suspects and traitors both from the criminal world and from the side of the security agencies.
Opinion
This movie gave me several impressions that I will mention without having a specific order or importance: among them is the similarity with the movie Joker, due to the serious way in which the narrative was approached and the simplicity with which the story begins; we can also notice the same similarity with the movie Seven due to the photography and development of the events. Something that could be considered as negative is the lack of depth in the arguments, motivations and even the intimate life of the main villain Riddler, where everything is approached in a simplistic way. On the other hand, I consider that The Batman is aimed at a teenage audience, since there are moments that no matter how "serious" and "mature" the script and direction want to present it, it leaves us with situations that are not very convincing, for example, an explosion of an explosive device and which the affected have no scratches or wounds; something that can be confirmed with the classification it received in the United States was PG-13 and an ending with romantic airs. The running time can be said to be too long for what was really due, so it gives the feeling that there are scenes that could have been eliminated or cut. As for the performances the best have been those of Colin Farrell and Robert Pattinson, because both are not shown as they are, that is, their physical appearance is not the same as we are used to see as viewers but they completely assume their respective characters, which makes us forget the actors completely as the minutes go by.
Well, this is what I can tell you, but in short, it is worth seeing it without making the mistake of comparing it with others that have been made about this same character. It is simply to watch and enjoy for a good time and disconnect from so many problems that we live in day to day.
I'll say goodbye before reminding you that you can leave your opinions in the comments box, I'll be reading them attentively.
Until next time, friends.
