Short Story: Trapped in a Constant
Deep inside me, I feel that my life has become a monotonous and overwhelming routine. Every day I wake up with the feeling of being trapped in a cage, like a hamster running endlessly on a wheel that never leads anywhere. The oppression of repetition envelops me, suffocating me as if I am breathing a toxic gas emanating from the hopelessness that hovers over my existence.
From my little corner, I observe the general panorama that surrounds me: the unemployment that plagues so many, the corruption that eats away at the structures of society, the relentless closure of once prosperous businesses, the divorces that tear families apart, the forced emigration due to the lack of opportunities. All this accumulation of misfortunes is reflected in my own life, turning it into a prison from which I long to escape.
In the midst of this maelstrom of despair, I long for a stroke of luck that will put an end to this meaningless existence, that will break the chains that bind me to this desolate reality. Sometimes, the idea that it will all end, that the wheel of life will stop turning, becomes a consolation, a hope of liberation.
But deep inside me, I know that the real strength to change my destiny lies within myself. Though darkness threatens to consume me, I must find the light within me, the determination to break this vicious cycle and forge a new path, one filled with hope and possibility. Though the temptation to give up is strong, I must remember that every day is an opportunity to reinvent myself, to find the purpose that will guide me to a full and meaningful life.
