Continuing with the recommendations of series that are not suitable for children, this time I come to present one of the productions of Japanese animation (better known as anime) focused on mystery and psychological terror, and it is none other than Boogiepop Phantom, the same series that was created just a short time after another that we will talk about later as it is Serial Experiment's Lain, and is that both series belonging to the same director and have similar elements.

Death is a death threat among the students of a school in Japan.

Review

The story begins when a large pillar of light is projected from the top of a building into the sky, in the midst of the darkness that covers an entire city. From that moment on, a number of events are unleashed that have to do with urban myths and murders that take place inside a high school and in which many of its students are affected due to a ghostly character who has been nicknamed Boogiepop Phantom, who is in charge of ending their lives full of hardships.

Opinion

This anime does not seek to disturb the viewer since the intention of its creators is that through a gloomy atmosphere we enter a world of human miseries, same that we can see in each of the characters and their various types of personal problems ranging from loneliness, sadness, drug use, the feeling of not belonging to a place in this world, as well as the social pressure on young people to achieve success ... that's why Boogiepop comes to put an end to all of them.

This story will grab you from beginning to end as it features great character designs, assertive use of colors to give a daunting look, music, and an unconventional directing style. And if we talk about the soundtrack, this is one of its strong points, since it has different styles such as Gregorian music, electronic music and others.

It is also worth mentioning that it has only 12 chapters of approximately 25 minutes each. In addition, it has a sequel that appeared just a few years ago.

I think that anime like Boogiepop Phantom is not easy to find, and with all its characteristics it should not go unnoticed or be forgotten, and honestly it has to be catalogued as an animation classic.

Have you already seen it? What is your opinion about it? And if you haven't seen it yet, would you be willing to see it?

I say goodbye before leaving a promotional video that was launched in one of the cable TV channels in Latin America. I hope you like it. And I'll see you next time.
