Before and after book restoration
Greetings friends. In this opportunity I come to tell you about my experience with the restoration of a book that I have stored in my house for a long time. This book, which is a dictionary of synonyms and antonyms, got damaged over time, and its front and back covers became detached, as well as part of the spine.
For this restoration work what I did was the following: first, I looked for a type of paper that would serve as a new support to keep both sides of the book together, which I managed to find in the cover of a magazine that I cut out, since it is made of a mixture of paper and plastic, which makes it an extremely resistant material.
Once cut out and folded to fit the side of the book (on the spine) I applied liquid glue and let it dry for several hours.
Next, I covered the whole book with cardboard paper and magazine clippings, gluing with glue stick; this in order to give it a new decoration.
Finally, and to protect this new cover, we will use transparent contact paper.
And that's it! We are done with our work 😃 What do you think?
I hope this will motivate you to do it. And remember you can comment at the end of this post, I'll be reading and giving you feedback. I also appreciate all the support received from all of you.
Without more to say I'll see you in a next installment.
Until then 😎👍.
