My first notes when I started drawing this year.

Greetings people of the community. Since the pandemic started two years ago, many of us at the beginning were trying to understand the situation in general and also to feel some panic regarding this Covid-19 disease and the consequences on our health. Already in the news we learned that several people died and others managed to survive, while others although they were not affected with their health if they were harmed with their income and even their jobs, also came to be cases of people who even being at home without anything happening to them failed to adapt during that time, suffering from anxiety and other ailments. In my case, I lost my first year during the pandemic because I did not know what to do, plus I had finished the contract with the company in which I worked, so I decided to stay at home; and in the second year (2021) I decided to do different things, I started looking for jobs online and also learn new activities, among those was drawing, something I had always done since I was a child but I did not have the basic knowledge to do it professionally or semi-professionally.

So looking for information on Youtube about this topic, I found many tutorials that taught me the basic principles to draw correctly. At the beginning I just watched as many tutorials as possible to be able to absorb as much information as possible and then start with the drawings using the techniques already learned.

Drawing of the human skeleton in a simplified form.

My first drawings were only focused on the human face in anime style (coming from Japanese animation), something that I have always loved. At the beginning I was looking for every possible way to make them look alike but I felt frustrated for not achieving it until I could after so many attempts and understanding that it's all about making the necessary corrections and adjustments at the sketch stage. Then I went for more, unlike the previous stage I did not apply shadows and light sources on the figure, so I tried applying it until I saw the results. Later, not satisfied with this, I dared to try to make the whole human body (keeping the anime style), and I found myself again with the same frustration and despair, so I had to insist for the desired result.

Another thing that I should also mention is the use of materials, because I started with a good amount of papers that I got at home and that were used in college, that is, I used the part that was blank while the other side had some kind of writing or information, I applied this for each sheet found, saving money and time in this; I also found several drawing pencils used in school, specifically in the subject called technical drawing; and finally, a pencil sharpener and an eraser. As time went by I bought more materials, such as markers, drawing pencils, colored pencils, a pad, etc.

Today I must say that having resumed this activity led me to reconnect with my childhood and as I was evolving I felt that I was maturing both personally and artistically, and it is something I notice clearly when I compare my first works with the last ones.

Drawing based on an anime character.

One of my latest works, applying different pencils to achieve a shading in various tones.

In conclusion, I must say that the time we have been in the Covid-19 pandemic has not been a total loss, in some way we can gain for our benefit and personal growth.

As for you, has anything similar happened to you? Have you been able to do or resume activities to put them into practice during this time? You can relate your experiences in the comments box, I will be glad to read them.

Without further ado, I bid you farewell until the next installment. I wish you much success.

See you in the next installment.

See you soon.

Great, I hope you can learn a lot and do a lot of work. I have been able to make drawings with colored pencils in a traditional way but not on a computer, I have even published several of these works in ReadCash. You can find them in my profile.
