An animated series not suitable for children: Death Note

Many times we believe that the field of animation is often for children and that is something that is not so, there are many examples that prove it as Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Heavy Metal .... so many that can be named to have them as a guide in case we want to see again or for the first time as often happens to some people, and in this case we will name a series that appeared in the first decade of this new millennium, one that deals with suspense, mystery and delusions of grandeur that is very present in us humans and represented perfectly in its protagonist, and this is none other than Death Note, a production that came to mark many people and that we will address below.

Review

The story of Death Note is centered on the ordinary life of a young college student who is walking in the internal areas of his high school, which suddenly gets a small mysterious book that will allow him to decide on the lives of those who get to write their names in it. This book is called Death Note and its owner happens to be the demon Ryuk, who left it on purpose so that Light, the protagonist, could get it to use it.

Light decides to use it in order to make justice in the world before so much evil that exists, but as time goes by he is corrupted by the power of the book and the pleasure of ending the lives of others, but everything changes when Light begins to be stalked by one of the best detectives in the world, which is nothing more and nothing less than L, who will do everything impossible to achieve his capture.

Opinion

It is worth watching from beginning to end even though it gives a feeling that there are filler chapters that do not contribute much to the development of the series. And as it progresses and reaches its final part we will feel the pressure for the future that awaits Light before his delusions and the persecution that has on him, this series deserves to be seen several times and be discussed under approaches of psychology and the field of criminalistics.

Another point that should also be mentioned is that its plot will remind us for those who have already read the book by Fyodor Dostoevsky, one of his great novels such as "Crime and Punishment", we will undoubtedly see the identification between the two characters and their motivations.

As for the direction in the animation style was very successful, something that manages to convey adrenaline and suspense to perfection, something that would doubt the same effect that is desired to convey in real image version, something that some time later several liveaction were created. Its soundtrack is another great component that helps to create the atmosphere of this series, and talk about its plot twists as well as its second opening.

In short, this is a great work that allows us to explore the innermost part of the human being when he feels like a god and decides about the lives of others guided by his own morals.
