Friends, it will be a few days before the official release of the series Cowboy Bebop by Netflix in which it presents its adapted version in liveaction, it has created much expectation among fans who came to see it, and on the other hand, even controversy because it is thought that it will not be totally faithful to its original, since as we know this company makes its versions usually gives a totally different sense to the characters and story. But to better understand about these points we are addressing we will start talking about this production in its original version and then see what we can expect soon, so let's start.
The series
In a not too distant and dystopian future, a group of bounty hunters must travel throughout outer space to capture their prey. This is how we could summarize the plot of this series known as Cowboy Bebop, which made its appearance in the late 90s of the last century, exactly in the year 1998 to be broadcast on TV Tokyo channel and then by the pay channel WOWOW, and it came to mark a whole generation that is a lover of 2D animation. In it we will find characters so diverse in their characteristics and origins, among them are an ex-policeman named Jet Black; the ex-gang member, Spike Spiegel; a girl who is in a permanent search of herself due to the loss of her memory after waking up from a cryogenic state, Fay Valentine; as well as a hacker girl, Ed; and finally, a dog with an intelligence that surpasses the common product of some laboratory tests, Ein; all of them are on board the spaceship called Bebop. The series is spectacular in all aspects, among them we can mention the background music that goes from the Jazz genre (mainly the Bebop that gives rise to the name of the series), Blues, rock, electronic, among others; as well as its well-kept animation scenes both in 2 and 3D, the character designs and the story of the characters. The same is to see it several times not only for the above mentioned but also by the load winks to pop culture so we must be attentive to identify them -for example, one of its chapters is called "Sympathy for the Devil", a song alluding to one of the songs of the band The Rolling Stones.
The film
Some time later, a movie called Cowboy Bebop: The Movie was released on the big screen, with a story set between the last final chapters of the series. Here we are introduced again to the crew of the Bebop in search of a terrorist who intends to spread a highly dangerous gas in the city, and then we will discover the connection between Spike and this character who must be arrested.
Its impact on America
On the other hand, it should be noted that both the series and the movie were broadcast in the American continent thanks to two subscription television channels, among which are Locomotion and Cartoon Network; both for the Spanish-speaking region, and on the other, Cartoon Networ in its English version for the United States in the Adult Swim section.
LiveAction on Netflix
The premiere of the adaptation of this series is scheduled for November 19, 2021 within the Netflix platform, and so far it can be said according to the images that the same company has promoted that the series has a style of direction and photography that reminds us of films like Kill Bill, by Quentin Tarantino, for the very violent camera movements or angles that take advantage of the entire scenario, as well as very strong colors in the clothing of the characters or in certain parts of the environment. I must also say that I have certain reservations because the costumes seem to be even more similar to the originals as well as the physical appearance of the characters, for example, the characters of Fay and Spike do not seem to represent the same age as in the original version, and as for Jet, he does look similar even though the actor who plays him is of a different race.
