Hey, there I am an ordinary guy who some times lay down on the roof of his house at night and staring at the stars. Today all of a sudden I saw an aircraft and as well as the different type of lights on it. When I saw the lights my mind force me to think that what is the purpose of that lights on the aircraft's.
As far as I search about it I learn some interesting facts about these lights that I want to share with you guys and hope you will also enjoy knowing the facts.
In every type of aircraft (fighter, military transport, or passenger) there are the same lights used.

1. Navigation lights

These are on the tip of the aircraft wings to helps the pilots to know the direction of the aircraft. They have 2 different colors left side Red and the right side have a green colour. It also Sou a white light on the tail of the plan. These lights were used in the 1800s in ships and then they started to use in aircraft.
To understand its use I give you an example, suppose you travel in a plane and you saw a red light in front of your plane it's means a plant crossing your plan from right to left and vise versa. If u saw a plan with three lights (left side green right side red and in the mid white light) then you should understand that a plan is to travelling in the same lane in which your plan to travels.

2. Storm lights

These are also called anti-collision lights. These two lights are also on the tip of the aircraft wings. These lights turn on before take off and turn off before landing. The intensity of these lights is so high that if it keeps on at the time of taxi the people on the airport may temporarily blind.
3. Beacon light:
These are warning lights on the top and under the front of the aircraft. These are only turn on when the engine of the aircraft is on or sometimes when the aircraft repair.

4. Taxi & Landing lights

Taxi lights are on the nose section of the aircraft or near the landing gear & Landing lights are on both sides of the aircraft's rear wings. These lights are used when landing a plan both day and night

5. Logo Lights:

These lights are not directly used for flight purpose or landing purposes. These are not too much necessary for aircraft but the aircraft companies use them to show their logo place on the tail of the aircraft. The other use of these lights Is when it differentiates the different aircraft of different companies.
