Are you guys familiar with the application, Telegram?
It is similar to Messenger, which is far the most popular messaging app. As it is connected to Facebook. Although you can open your messenger separately, not necessarily opening your Facebook account.
Telegram is also a messaging application. It was created by the by Nikolai and Parel Duvor and was launched in 2013. Here you can send messages, pics and videos like Messenger.
The differences that I've noticed is as follows:
It doesn't have a chathead. When download to your mobile phone, you need to go to the application to be able to use it. Unlike in messenger, the chathead is available making it convenient for the user to use other application on the phone.
Group call and videocall is not available. Since it's not too long when this application was launched, some features like videocall and group call are still unavailable. You can only call and videocall one person at a time.
Sending files from the phone. This is my favorite feature of Telegram. Unlike in messenger, you can send files from your phone to your contacts through Telegram. It is so convenient when you are a student or a worker who has a lot of important files to be sent.
Deleting messages with no trace. In Telegam, it can guarantee you that you're deleted messages will be gone with no traces. No "unsent message" will appear.
More GIFs and Stickers. If you are a person who loves to send stickers and GIFs, then this app is for you. In telegram, you have different choices to choose from. And you can also create your own sticker pack.
Customize Background Convos. You can design the background of your conversation with another, in a way that you can set a picture as your background. You can also customize the color of your messages with each other.
Pinned Messages. In telegram, you can pin a message on top of your conversation.
Music. When you send a music, it'll be placed on top of all your conversations and you can play it. Unlike in messager, where you can't.
Organization of all the files. When you send a file, a link, or a photo or video, telegram can organize it pretty well.
That's all the features I know. I'm using both messenger and telegram :) Because my family is using messenger. But I like telegram better :>
