“We are like islands in the sea, separate on the surface but connected in the deep.”
― William James
The thought of the vastness of the ocean and how its enigmatic depths capture the weary soul, beguiles me. We could never deny how rejuvenating the waves and sea breeze are. Looking at the horizon at night feeling as if you're temporarily tethered to the sea.
Peace in solitary.
Imagine being alone at the seaside late at night where your friends are already drunk and you want to isolate yourself for a moment, feeling sober and wanting to connect with the calmness of the sea.
It's therapeutic, sitting alone and just thinking about life.
In times of hard, we crawl back to nature's wonders. Trying to accumulate the peace in silence, as our thoughts in our head slowly organize. Our suppressed feelings bursting out, and trying to set a new course in our life.
The sea is sometimes like a stranger that we know we can trust well, where we could vault our deepest sentiments without being judged.
As my perspective, the sea is not just a body water, it's a body of emotions and feelings by different kind of people whose suffering from pain that's been brought down upon this world.
Someday, we can feel the better days, our feelings as blue as the ocean's color–vanquished, shone by the sun as our brilliance will reflect upon the planet.
To the people whose suffering, I hope you'll find the sea as a channel for refuge, for surely you'd be reborn as strong as its currents.
Here's my own shot of the sea hence, the inspiration for the title:
Dies solis.
