Pick Up What I've Got
Have you read my short story about the prodigal princess? If not, you can check them out.
My Alibughang Anak short story is my own version of the parable of the prodigal son that you can read in the Bible (Luke 15: 11-32).
The parable goes with the son who confidently get all his shares of their property and left in order to please himself to the fullest even if it's not right anymore. He got numerous of friends nor girls and treat them all with those they've wanted. However, as all his money were gone by spending, he was left with his self alone. He has no food to eat, no water to drink, no clothes to wear, and no house for shelter. Thus, he decided to go back home and be a servant there as he realized that he has sinned against God and his father. Yet, his father was so happy the moment he saw him from afar and embraced him. He was in extreme joy knowing that his son was lost but that time was found.
Just as my own version too. Princess Akile was so hard-headed to the point that she stole all their wealth for her love but he betrayed her and even stabbed her in the back. Thankfully, she was able to defeat them all and save herself.
These are what I've learned from the parable. Pick them up!
Experience Speaks
Experience is the best teacher in life. There are lessons that cannot be taught by our loved ones nor the people around us. There is a need to experience some on our own so we ourselves can totally realize the lessons that we have to embrace. Pains and sorrows are sometimes good.
Regret Comes Last
Evidently, regret is always at the end. It is very important to think wisely upon taking a choice by considering factors such as its pros and cons. The rightness of a choice must always be considered as well for it is always the best to take. Use your heart and mind. Weigh things thoroughly and never ever let your sensitive emotions prevail along the way. In the end, it is always you yourself who will take and face the consequences no matter how hard you'll run and hide. It will keep on chasing you and you'll just hurt yourself over and over again the more you escape.
Forgive
Forgive people who hurt you no matter how big or small the issue is. Just like the father in the parable, he accepted his son even though he did the worst. Though it's hard in reality, I believe that time heals. Imagine how good it feels when you take a thorn in your heart and make peace. God said to forgive someone who has wronged you not just seven times but seventy-seven times.
Value Your Parents
Loving our parents is valuing them. Value what they'll feel and value your relationship. When they look at what's best for you, why disobey? Though there are times they're wrong, you can always speak up in a nice way.
These are only one of my realizations. However, if we take a deeper thought, the parable is talking about how God is always willing to accept us despite how worst and sinful we are. He is right there waiting for us to come back. He is a loving and merciful God. Remember that God came to the world to save the sick. He came to save those who are lost. You, me, and all of us.
Stop telling yourself you are not worthy enough. Stop telling yourself that even the devil can't forgive you. Stop telling yourself lies. Start embracing the truth. God is waiting.

The experiences we have in lives are all that shape us and those experiences others have to let them experience them so as to shape themselves too and most at times the regret of those experiences comes later on
